Nicholas Sparks
Nicholas Sparks is the most recent author to make it on my favorite of all time list. I just happen to discover him one day while browsing through Books-A-Million. I was looking for a book that day in order to escape bordom. I really didn't care that much what type of book I wanted. When I came up on the book "A Walk to Remember," I remembered seeing the previews for the movie, so that's what I bought. I read that book in a day. It was one of the best written books I have read in a long time. I then went back each 2 weeks and bought his whole collection, "The Notebook," "Message In A Bottle," "The Rescue," and "A Bend In The Woods," "Nights In Rodanthe," "The Guardian," and "The Wedding." Each and everyone of the books is very good and touching.
Thomas Harris
This author was also influenced by a movie. I first read "Silence of the Lambs" after I saw the movie and found out that Thomas Harris is a native of Mississippi. After "Silence of the Lambs," I decided to read the first book in the Hannibal Lecter series, "The Red Dragon." This book was AWESOME. I loved every second of this book and I was so pleased with the new version of the movie. It went right by the book! Everyone who knows me, knows that one of my pet peeves is when a movie does not follow a book at all. I was also very pleased that they were able to get Sir Anthony Hopkins to reprise his role as Lecter. That made the movie!! I loved it when "Hannibal" came out! That book is better than the movie and I believe that if the movie ended like the book. It would have made it much more interesting!!!
Harry Potter
I love J.K. Rowling's books on Harry Potter. Even though they are mainly for children, these books can capture your imagination within seconds into the book. In each book, I was on the edge of my seat anxious to know what was going to happen next. I really can't pick a favorite in the series but if I HAD to, it would probably be "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" (which is pictured). These books are fantastic even though most people are against them, I think these are great for children.
