April 8, 2000--At our spring break meet at Emory University I experienced a season ending knee injury in the javelin throw. My marks in the discus and javelin will reflect this, as Emory was the only meet in which I was able to compete in those events. Hopefully, I will be back strong for next season.
August 19, 2000--Another unfortunate injury to my knee and it looks like I will be sitting out the 2001 indoor season as well. I have torn and now have required surgical reconstruction of the anterior cruciate ligament in my left knee. (I throw left-handed, so you fellow throwers out there know why this injury being to my left knee is troublesome.) I am looking to be back in action by spring break 2001, the start of our outdoor season. Everyone can track the progress of my rehab. from this injury in the "My Knee Injury" section of this site. Wish me luck!
January 2, 2001--I was able to return from my knee injury earlier than expected, and will compete in the indoor season. The Elmhurst College throwers will be throwing for a new coach this season and are learning the spin technique for spot put.
February 12, 2001--After careful consideration and yet another injury (a herniated disk in my lower back), I made the decision to no longer participate in Track & Field. I want to be able to walk when I am older!
