Duane Locke, Doctor of Philosophy in English Renaissance literature, Professor Emeritus of the Humanities, was Poet in Residence at the University of Tampa for over 20 years. He has had over 2,000 of his poems published in over 500 print magazines such as American Poetry Review, The Nation, Literary Quarterly, Black Moon, and Bitter Oleander. He is the author of 14 print books of poems, the latest of which is Watching Wisteria. Since September 1999, he has become a cyber poet and started submitting on-line, and since September 1999 he has increased the number of poetry acceptances to over 5,000.
Dr. Locke is also a painter whose works have been exhibited at the Thomas Center Galleries (Gainesville, Florida) and Tyson Trading Company (Micanopy, Florida). He has had a one-man show at Pyramid Galleries in Tampa.
