1. Pervis Ellison, BOSTON
THE BUFFALO SOLIDER
CUT IT OR KEEP IT?
Larry Johnson: I like Pervis' hair-he's got the ponytail, too. On the court, people might say, "What's going on?" But when a guy like Perv puts on a nice suit that's smooth. Big, big Rastafarian, Very Smooth.
Chris Gatling: I don't like it. He's gonna have to do a lot of work. First, we're gonna have to cut off all those dreadlocks. Right now his hair is just not breathing. It's not healty, and it's hurting his hair.
COIF CURE?
Larry Johnson: Leave it. His hair is fine like that it's just perfect you don't need to change it.
Chris Gatling: I think the important thing is just to shave his head bald and start all over. Sometimes when your'e little, you say, "Don't cut my hair, it's bad luck," Well, yo, Pervis: You have bad luck. He was out all season, right? So maybe you should cut your hair.
2.Allen Iverson, PHILADELPHIA
THE SNOOP DOG
CUT IT OR KEEP IT?
Larry Johnson: I love it. These young guys are coming in and expressing themselves. Good hair that's the way to meet the woman, right there.
Chris Gatling: I have nothing but good things to say about Iverson. He has the headband, number one. And the cornrows, the braids now that's a new style.
COIF CURE
Larry Johnson: Stay with the 'rows. We specialize in this at my salon. But I would recommend he go no headband.
Chris Gatling: He should come into Cut me Twice. Wel'l do his rows. I'll do them myself.
3.Dennis Rodman, CHICHAGO
THE HALE-BOPP
CUT IT OR KEEP IT?
Larry Johnson: We don't allow that in my shop. He'd be banned from 6001. Banned.
Chris Gatling: (Shaking his head) He just puts that dye in it and lets it go. He's on a different plateau-a differnt planet!
COIF CURE
Larry Johnson: I'd shavee that head straight bald. His hair's been dyed so many times, ain't no telling what color it's going to grow back. I doubt it comes back to his reall color-whatever that was.
Chris Gatling: I would taper down the sides. We don't do much coloring at my place, but I would do one color-green. Kind of a lime green. That would bring out his eyes.
4.Chris Mullin, GOLDEN STATE
THE BOOT CAMP
CUT IT OR KEEP IT
Larry Johnson: I like it. Chris dosen't have to touch it.
Chris Gatling: Definitely. That's fine. He getts that done at my place, I love it.
COIF CURE
Larry Johnson: If he gets too bald, I'd just shave a little closer around.
Chris Gatling: Nothing, He likes that New York style:close on the sides, light on top.
5.Anthony Mason, CHARLOTTE
THE TALKING HEAD
CUT IT OR KEEP IT
Larry Johnson: Let's just say I wouldn't do that.
Chris Gatling: If I was into that-writing on my head-I would give him an A for the artwork. That's not easy you know.
COIF CURE
Larry Johnson: I don't know. I can't do all that, with the messages and writing. He can do what he wants to.
6.Rony Seikaly, ORLANDO
THE KENNY G
CUT IT OR KEEP IT
Larry Johnson: That's terrible. He needs to do something. Too much hair, man.
Chris Gatling: He's going with the European look this year, a little wild. With that much hair, he could really hurt himself. If he gets dandruff buildup, wearing a dark jersey, something might happen. I'd call a technical.
COIF CURE
Larry Johnson: If he's gonna play in the NBA with hair like that, he better wear a headband. Since Rony usually has long hair, he could keep it, but i'd go shorter on the sides.
CUT IT OR KEEP IT
7.Sam Perkins, SEATTLE
THE AFRO-DREAD
CUT IT OR KEEP IT
Larry Johnson: Sam's got the mini-Bob Marley. I think he's got to grow full dreads. He's got, like, 'fro dreadds, and you can't have both.
Chris Gatling: That's called, like little dirt-locks. There must be spiders and bugs up in there.
COIF CURE
Larry Johnson: You know, Sammy would look all right with a 'fro, too. He's just got to grow. It's a little natty now. Grow it, Sammy!
Chris Gatling: I can't do nothing with that! My clippers won't cut that.
