Brief Biography of Notis' life/career!

Notis was born in Hrakleio, KrhthV in November of 1960.  His father was from  Krhth and his mother was from Mikra Asia.  Most of his growing years were spent on the island of KwV but he also lived in Germany for short periods of time. As he was growing up in KwV  he got work as a DJ and in 1985 he opened his own club where he performed. That same year his career began as a professional singer. He was invited to Athens in 1988 and after a few unsuccessful attempts he gets his break and he performs with Poli Panou, Kosta Monaho, and others.  During the winter season of 1989 he is at the new Stock Club with Poli Panou and Stamati Kokota.  The next year he gets he gets discovered in Thessalonikh as he is performing with Eleni Dimou.  Credited with the discovery of Notis is Teris Siganos and Akis Golfidis.  Here he also meets with Sony Music president, Kosta Bourba.  As a result, in June of 1991 he released his first album which marked his success early on and never looked back since. He vowed then that every "step" he took would be better than the previous one -- and he has stood by his promise by releasing one great album after another. Thank you Noti!  About his personal life, he is happily married with two children, twins, Apollona and Afroditi.

He has worked with Elenh Dhmou, Lefterh Pantazh, Antzela Dhmhtriou, Alexia, Basilh Karra, Aggelo Dionusiou, Cristina Maragkozi, Despoina Bandi, Basilh Paiterh, and Natasa Qeodwridou. In the winter of 1995-'96 he performed at "Gazi" and in the winter of '96-'97 he appeared at "REX OASIS" where he recorded some of the songs in the album Empeiriwn SullekthV :Mono gia filouV - Notis. In May of 1996 he performed at the Conference Hall-Wembley in London. Later that same year he went on an North American tour which had great success. The concert in Toronto, Canada was one that Noti says he will never forget. He has become the premiere singer of Greek Music as he sings with passion and fulfills the promises he makes to his audience/fans.  During the summer of 1998 -- July & August -- Notis toured Greece: "O NOTHS KAI OI NOTES MIA BOLTA STHN ELLADA."  The concerts were nothing less than great!!  Noti then planned a world tour Notis Sfakianakis Around the World. Europe (Spring 1999), U.S. & Canada (Spring 1999), Australia (2000), Cyprus (2000), South Africa (2000), & Greece (2001) where the tour will come to an end.   My advice is that if he is in your neighborhood, town, country, and/or continent go see him and you won't regret it.  Before he left for the Spring 2000 tour Noti recorded his 8th album at Rex where he ended his performances at the club.  This album reached record sales and in November 7th, 2000, it was awarded the seven platinum level of sales.  After the North American tour (Spring 1999)  he went to Thessaloniki where he was planning to undertake the next stage of his recording/performing career.  Things did not fully work out and he spent the summer with his family in Kos and other Greek islands.

In March of 1999 Notis received yet another award.  POP CORN magazine 1998  music awards declared Notis as the best singer of 1998.  This after his album "Oi NoteV Einai 7YuceV..", a double CD, which had already become five times platinum with most record sales of all time only to be broken by his next album release.  Rewriting history.....  What a year--Thanks Noti..

On June 7th, 1999 Notis released "CCC Enqumion"  This album was to mark the end of a three year run at the club Rex Oasis.  A double CD of Notis' great songs and yet some more classic ones like "Akou Bre Fele."  By November of 2000 sales had skyrocketed and the album had become seven times platinum breaking the four time platinum record he had set just two years prior.  Later the same year, December 1999, a five song single was released only to become four times platinum and to erase rumors of a retirement.  A free concert for all his fans takes place at "Irinis kai Filias" and the stadium was filled as more fans waited outside.  In November of 2000, two weeks after the seven platinum award ceremony, which was broadcast live on the net through Mad.gr, he released another album "Poluxrwma & Entona."  This album was almost double platinum even before it reached record stores as orders soared.  It was previewed at Iera Odos on November 27 and released on November 28.  The continued success was eminent.  Since 1999 Notis has been performing at Iera Odo during the winter season.  Lines formed outside the club as fans waited for the opportunity to enter the club.  The appearences continued in 2000/1 season as well with Konstantina.

As planned in the Spring of 2000 Notis went to the land down under.  One concert was canceled, Adelaide, yet the remainder where nothing less than great.  He then went to South Africa, Johanasburg,  and finally ended the tour in Cyprus with five great shows.
