elcome to Of Ages Past, a monthly publication dedicated to Historical Fiction. And what better time to introduce a new on-line magazine than at the start of a new year? But why a site devoted exclusively to Historical Fiction, you might ask?
The answer is quite simple—because there are none. For several months now I have been searching the Worldwide Web, hoping to find a site devoted to a genre of fiction I not only love to read, but write as well. How disappointed I was to locate no such animal. Certainly, a few writing sites offer an historical category for authors like myself to submit their work, but it is extremely rare. Therefore, I have created Of Ages Past to fill that void. Here, readers will be able to immerse themselves in tales of the past, to read reviews on newly released historicals, even to offer feedback to the contributing authors. For writers of the genre, Of Ages Past provides an opportunity to see their work published on the web, whether it be a short story, a novel excerpt, or a place to post messages to authors with similar interests. Moreover, authors may contribute anything from book reviews to advice on the art of writing, the hell of researching, and the triumph of getting published. For me, Of Ages Past is nothing less than a dream come true. So I will say it again, but it bears repeating—welcome to our first issue . . . and enjoy.
