agical. Enchanting. Sublime. These delightful three Muses case a spell of wonder on Tracy Forbes new novel, Heart Of The Dove.
Lucinda Drakewyck practices the family craft—witchery—and manages to live a quiet life until she begins to suffer spells that foretell her death. A crystal dove with a ruby heart promises salvation in the form of a warrior, scarred and disillusioned by life, who will be her salvation, but should they love or marry it will mean death to them both. Yet from their first meeting, all thoughts of non-involvement melt like snow in the sun with the capture of her heart by the man she dubs Lancelot. The Charge of the Light Brigade costs Richard Clairmont his best friend, leaving him with nightmares and a mangled hand to haunt his days and fill his nights with restless pacing, fearing sleep and dreams. When Lucinda enters his life, it is as if the black veil of the Crimean War melts beneath the brilliance of her devotion, even the discovery of her witchcraft, and inane ramblings of doom, can not cool the ardor that compels him to make her his own. Tracy Forbes follows the brilliant release of her first novel, Touch Not The Cat, with Heart Of The Dove, which again introduces Morgana Fey, but in a startling and horrifying role. Gifted with an ability to spin yarns of incomparable splendor, Tracy Forbes cast a spell on her readers from Page 1 that binds them with silken cords comprised of magical characters and intriguing plot. Add an abundant dash of sensuality, romance, and mystery, then stir in a spoonful of deviltry to produce a novel as fulsome as a triple-tiered chocolate cake topped with thick mocha frosting. Delicious! Very Highly Recommended!
