Dear Lovers Of Historical Fiction,
Although it breaks my heart to say it, I must... Due to the lack of time on my part, Of Ages Past Magazine will cease to exist. Im sure many of the magazines staunch devotees will not be surprised to hear this news. Its truly been a long time coming. As some of you know, most of my hours these days are devoted to being Managing Editor for a major e-publisher, as well as being the Historical Fiction editor for another, and then there is also my new business of designing books covers, which has not only proven successful (thankfully, since it earns me some much-needed capital) but has also eaten up the few remaining hours I had left each day. Therefore, with time for my fiction writing at a premium now that I have garnered a second book contract, something was bound to give, and alas, the magazine, being the only thing Ive done without any financial compensation, is now the only thing I can possibly forfeit. I will, however, keep the Archives and Message Boards online, as well as maintain both the Bookstore/Recommended Reading section and OAP Webring as time permits. Additionally, I plan to keep the Links section open as well and add pertinent links whenever possible. The Book Reviews section might also be updated periodically, or perhaps even combined with the Recommended Reading list at some future date, but I still havent adjudged what will best fit my hectic schedule. Now, with all that said, I want to wholeheartedly thank every author/reviewer who has graciously contributed to the magazine in the past year and a half, as well as all the hundreds of readers who have visited, lent support, and sent words of encouragement and advise. I still firmly believe Historical Fiction is the best, most engaging, enchanting, and enlightening fiction on the planet, and that there is, indeed, a healthy market for it! Thanks, then, to everyone involved, because you have indeed proven me correct. All the best! Trace Edward Zaber |
