Life In a Small Town

FlOwEr

It is my belief that, in a small town, like Lexington, no one expects for someone’s life to change. It rarely does: the postal carrier is always the same, football games at home are packed with the same people as last week, seasons change like last year, and life goes on. But, in a flash, our lives change. Our souls open up to others like they have never done before. Everyone is concerned about one thing, at this moment, and that is Jacob Whittaker. So, taking those thoughts into action, I decided that it would be beneficial for you, the readers, to know what the school will do for Jacob on his behalf.

F: “Dr. McArdle, how are you planning to make it possible for Jacob to attend school with us?”

D. M.: “It will all depend on Jacob and what the doctors say. He may need tutors. Once he is out of the hospital, it depends on what his limitations will be. Right now, he will be tutored. Hopefully, we can get an internet hook up in the classroom.

F.: “What do you, and the school board, plan to change in the high school to make it possible for Jacob to still come to school here?”

D. M.: “Then, when he comes back to the school, there will be a lift to the second floor on the East side of the building. It will all depend on Jacob and what he wants to try.”
Jacob Whittaker’s address is: St. Francis Hospital
