Thanatos Gerroux
They looked back and saw him.
He in his cloak. The dancing one.
He was the one from whom the sun fled.
Where he danced, life was afraid to show
Itself.
They saw him and flew away.
They thought to themselves, "He's Dancing. He'll never catch us."
They called to the men who could no see Him.
"Run; he's coming; he of the bite; He'll Steal your life."
They kept flying away. Somewhere in Them, they knew that one day he would Catch them.
For while they rested, he kept dancing On. They flew over the water to lose Him, but he danced on.
When his feet
Touched the water, he stole the life from It and it became solid.
They kept flying from him, but when They thought the had lost him, they
Looked back and saw his dancing
Figure coming South to get them.
He looked back and saw her
Beautiful figure coming south to get Him. The one he loved.
The one he hated. She gave meaning
To his life, but it was a bitter
Life indeed. He was afraid. Afraid
She would destroy him. She
Melted the ice he walked on. He
Was afraid because, somewhere in
The darkest depths of his soul, he
Knew he would have to face her Someday. She kept getting quicker,
and he couldn't run. He danced
Artfully, while the life bowed to him With respect. She was coming
Closer, bringing the life to its
Feet again. She destroyed his
Its monochromatic hue.
She looked at the sky and
Was afraid. They were coming
For her.
It is true that she was their mother,
But like disobedient children they
Rebelled. She loved them, but
Hated them at the same time. They
Were chasing her while in the air, and
Obviously wanted her dead. Somewhere
In her, she knew they would kill
Her some day. The birds with
Their powerful beaks would stab
Her, and she had no resistance.
Every time she looked back, she saw the shadows in the sky coming for her.
She continued to run from them,
Being able to walk on the water when
She chose. It was not in her nature
To kill.
