Heaven – The Flaw in Perfection

Belaura VanCraz

This article is designed for people of religion. If you are among the more logical beings, and believe in Biology above Theology, I would advise against reading this. Then again, this article is, in a way, supporting your beliefs, so if you want to keep an open mind, then go right ahead. I know the articles in this thing are supposed to "apply to everyone, regardless of age, sex, or beliefs," but if everyone in history did exactly as they were told, we would still be living in the Eastern Hemisphere of a flat world. I'm going to write this part anyway, and if my editors don't like it they can come and get me.

A while ago, I wrote something that was objective to religion, but I don't expect you to know that, as it never reached the world outside of Lexington High School. I'm going to go along the same concept now, but will try a different approach to it.

This time around, Heaven itself shall be my target. When you say the word Heaven, what crosses your mind? Usually the word "perfection" is synonymous with Heaven. Seraphim and Cherubim flying around happily, broken families reuniting, and all is happy everywhere. There is no discontentment, and no greed. The biblical war on heaven is a direct contradiction to that, however. If there can, in truth, be no discontentment or negative emotions in Heaven, then what were the Demons thinking when they broke away? The fact that people go further than that war and still call heaven perfect sounds awfully comparable to a governmental cover-up to me. Could the ruling body of Heaven be like the ruling body of America? Even I don't like making that comparison, so I'll back off here.

It is my belief that nothing can exist without its opposite. If you don't have down and have up, then how do you decide what up is? You have no comparison so you can't make that call. I wish to call this theory the Yin-Yang Concept. You can't be happy without being sad sometimes as well. You can, however, have the absence of both happiness and sadness, and this sounds more like what Heaven might be like. Without desire, you can receive no fulfillment. Without competition, there is no victory. Without the emptiness of the need for companionship, love could not exist. If Heaven has no negative emotions, positive emotions can't exist there, either. This would make it follow not the black side nor the white side, but a gray hue that contained no interest. As a hospital is devoid of any sense stimulants, so is the gray devoid of emotional stimulants.

This leads to the final point. If you know history, Heaven on Earth has been attempted before. No Utopia has ever stood because of the Human need for conflict. They usually stand for a while, but men need purpose in their lives. Heaven, if it is truly perfection, would steal the one thing that everything – Religion, Love, Wisdom, Joy – comes down to. Purpose. If Utopias are any indication of Heaven, then Man really doesn't want this boredom. This, in my eyes, is the flaw in perfection.
