(Author Unknown)
Dearest Grandma,
How are you? I miss you.
The last time I saw you, you were lying in your new, soft,
satiny white bed of flowers - they were purple, your
favorite color
You were resting peacefully and with a young, pleasant
look upon your face - I thought you were just sleeping
I wear your cross and purple stoned guardian angel around
my neck every day. Are you the angel now?
What is it like to be in Heaven? What does God look like?
Have you gotten your wings yet?
I picture you, just as I knew you - overcome with age, but
always smiling, clapping, laughing…
I see you with all the stuffed animals in the world. (By the
way, I'm taking good care of your purple bear.)
I see you dancing cheerfully, carrying your Bible, and singing
your favorite hymns and praises.
I like to think that you have been able to reunite with your
family and friends. How is Grandpa?
Well, Grandma, I must be going. Do me a favor and watch
over me - keep me safe - be my angel.
I will see you again in the future, but until then, touch a star
for me and help the sun grow warm.
I Love You,
Your Great-Granddaughter
