We are all slaves in this world,
As we serve our unseen master.
Who shackles us in humanity,
and whips us with unification.
"What will they think? What will they say?"
Our shackles bind us ever tighter
To those that hold us
And are held by us.
As we divulge and escape
From the shackles that bind us,
Then are we whipped with the words
Of those on the other end of the shackles.
We are all slaves in this world,
As we serve the force unseen.
That binds us with our pain,
And our need to be as one.
And when we ponder what it is that binds us,
It comes to us with ease.
It is the unseen master,
Who exists only in our own minds.
