THE DINNER GOWN

MY DINNER GOWN

Ah, my Dinner Gown. This is a beautiful gown. I started with a wedding gown pattern. The underdress is made from a beautiful peach satin. The overdress is black chiffon that is accented with gold leaf motifs. Then came the rows of lace. I used Chantilly Lace, cutting 10" strips. Then they were hand sewn on in a diagonal fashion. Rows of the Chantilly Lace is also added to the train, which will be beaded later.

The train of this gown is attached at the left sholder, crosses over and is again attached at the right hip. The train then swings on down the train of the gown which is also Chantilly Lace.

Then came the beading and the sequins. I really went to extreme on the beading of my personal Dinner Gown. I have made this gown for others, and the extent of the beading is up to the customer and their price that they want to pay. There is a lot of work in sewing these beads on, since they are all done by hand. On my personal gown there are 14,000 black beads adorning it. There are also 10,000 black sequins. I also added crystal stars to this gown. This was my own thought. I remembered the phrase in the movie "Take Me To The Stars", so then I added the stars. I also added a wrist loop for dancing after dinnertime.

A rhinestone broach is added to the left side holding the drape material on the bodice.

Long white gloves are a must for this gown. Also, I created a matching beaded handbag.

Also included with my gown is a replica of the Dinner Necklace and Ear Rings worn by Rose. I made my Hair Cage using a gold chain that is adorned withAroraborialis crystals. I have my hair up in the back, then using the long chain, I wind it in a fashion that cages the hair. It works out really beautifully, and is very noticable in the lights.

This is truly an elegant gown. It sparkles and glitters in such a eye catching way. The added sparkle of the jewelry, especially the hair, makes this gown beautiful. It certainly does make a statement. I also made a pink cotton petticoat to go with this gown. It is a soft cotton of light pink with two rows of ruffles at the bottom. So, if I do lift my skirt to dance the "irish jig" my pink ruffled petticoat shows. I noticed this in the movie, so that is why I decided to add a pretty pink petticoat.

These photos were taken at one of my style showings. I did a fashion show for the ladies wearing each of my beautiful creations. Just a cool drink before entering the dining room to show the beautiful Dinner Gown.
