Are you wearing your seatbelt? The chinese money launderers weren't, and that is how goes the movie PayBack, starring Mel Gibson. Mel plays Porter, a profesional criminal, who is taken for $70,000 (not $130,000, as he repeatedly points out) early in the movie, and left for dead. The movie shows how he works his way up from next-to-dead to dealing-with-the-big-boys, as he struggles to get his money. The way he goes about getting this money is somewhat un-conventional, and he kills all but 2 or 3 of the people that get in his way. I'll warn you now that when you see PayBack, you will see scenes of really really painful looking sex, and really really painful looking torture, that is really really un-necesarry, but understand that these are the touches that make a movie what it is. I won't say much more, exept that this movie is not for the weak of heart (or stomach). If you are pregnant, or nursing, or have a heart condition, DO NOT WATCH THIS MOVIE!

I loved this movie. It marked my triumphant return to the theaters after a long leave of absence, during which time I saw nothing. hehe. This isn't a good date movie. Not in the classic sence, anyways. If you and your date are into extreme violence, and killing, and S&M (i will not explain what that is if you don't know) then by all means, go and see this movie. If you get into arguments over who has the cuter dimple, the new Babe movie is out, go rent that, and stay at home, where no one will ever get noxious watching you flirt. PayBack really doesn't have much in the way of drama and meaning, and the first 20 minutes or so are kind of tough to understand, but that doesn't stop Gibson and his cohorts from delivering a top-notch performance.
