Micky jogged down the beach and literally ran into someone, knocking them both to the ground. “Oh, I’m sorry!” He exclaimed, standing up and brushing the sand off his legs. He looked down and into two of the most beautiful green eyes he had ever seen. “Are you alright? I wasn’t watching where I was going.” He held out his hand and helped her up.
“Yes, I’m fine.” She answered, quickly letting his hand go as soon as she was standing. “I wasn’t watching where I was going either.”
“My name is Micky Dolenz.” He smiled.
“I’m Elizabeth Davis.” She smiled back shyly. “I should go.” She started down the beach again.
“Wait!” Micky ran and caught up with her. “Would you like to go out for a cold drink? There’s a diner not too far from here.”
“Thanks, but I can’t.” She continued to jog. “It was nice meeting you, Micky.”
“You too. Maybe I’ll see you again sometime, Beth.” He stopped and waved.
“Maybe.” She waved over her shoulder.
“Definitely.” Micky said to himself.

On the way home, Micky couldn’t stop thinking about Elizabeth. It had been a long time since he had been this attracted to someone. Most girls he dated either found him too crazy or he found them too snobby. But this girl…he couldn’t get her eyes out of his mind. They were guarded and almost sad but so mysterious. She had shoulder-length strawberry-blonde hair and a body with curves in all the right places. Now all he had to do was get her to go out with him.

The next morning, Micky took the chance that she would be jogging on the same part of the beach that she had the day before. He was right. He spotted her coming towards him and waved. “Hi Beth!”
“Micky…hi.” She bent over to catch her breath.
“I was wondering if you’d like to go out tonight.” He started. “My roommates and I have a band and we’re playing at gig at the Vincent Van Go-Go.”
“Oh, I don’t know.” She answered with hesitation.
“I promise it will be fun.” He winked.
“Okay, it does sound like fun.” She nodded.
“Great! I’ll pick you up at seven.” He said. “Where do you live?”
“Why don’t I just meet you there. The Vincent isn’t far from my house.” She answered quickly.
“Okay, then, I’ll see you tonight.” He smiled.
