Amber followed the security guard backstage. He steered her through the mass of people and then into a small room. “Please wait here.” He left closing the door behind him.
She stood there and looked around. It didn’t take long before she figured out that she was in Micky’s dressing room. There, sitting on the dressing table, was the baseball cap and sunglasses he had been wearing earlier that afternoon. She waited nervously, and when the door opened, her heart jumped.
“Hey.” Micky walked in smiling.
“Hi.” She smiled back at him shyly.
He tapped the menu she still held in her hands. “How come you didn’t tell me you knew who I was?”
She set the menu down on the dresser and set her hands on her hips. “How come you didn’t tell me who you were?” She shot back.
“Good point.” He chuckled. “Okay, let’s start over…Hi, I’m Micky Dolenz.” He held out his hand to her.
She rolled her eyes and laughed, taking his hand. “Hi, Micky, it’s nice to meet you. I’m Amber Davis.”
“Good to meet you, Amber.” He held onto her hand and ran his thumb over her knuckles sending shivers through her entire body.
She pulled her hand away and leaned back against the dresser. “You were really great out there.”
“Thanks.” He stood in front of her. “I’m getting the feeling here that’s there something wrong.”
“I’m just not sure why you brought me here.” She looked up at him.
“I’m not really sure either.” He said honesty. “I am very attracted to you, Amber.”
“The feeling is mutual.” She gave a soft smile. “Now tell me the but part.” As soon as he started to speak, she put a finger to his lips. “On second thought, I don’t want to know.”
“Amber, I can’t….”
“I said I didn’t want to know.” She gave a nervous laugh. “Are you done here tonight?”
“Yeah, I am, but…” He started again.
“Good.” She handed him the sunglasses and the baseball cap. “Come ride the ferris wheel with me?”
He smiled, slipping the cap on and then taking her hand. “Let’s go.”
