JUNE, 1970…
"I can't believe this is happening." Madison held tightly on to Micky's hand as they ascended the steps at the police station. "I can't believe he would do something like this."
"I'm going to kill him." Micky growled. "He's lucky Mike left on his honeymoon. Maybe we can keep this from him until they get back."
"I doubt it." Chuck Stone commented. "It's been all over the news and in the papers."
"You're our manager, can't you control it?" Micky stormed as they reached the top of the steps.
"Easy, Mick." Madison gently touched his arm. "It's not his fault. You know how relentless the press can be."
"I know." He held open the door. "Sorry, man, I didn't mean to snap."
"No sweat." Chuck smiled. "Let's go find out about Peter."
The three of them walked into the police station and to the front counter. "Excuse me." Chuck said to the officer behind the desk.
The officer looked up. "Can I help you?"
"I’m Chuck Stone. We're here to post bail for Peter Tork."
After an hour of paperwork, Peter was finally escorted out. He looked tired, pale and scared. "Peter, are you okay?" Madison ran to him throwing her arms around his neck.
"I'm fine." He sighed giving her a quick embrace.
Micky and Chuck walked over to them. "You've got a lot of explaining to do." Micky said harshly.
"That can wait." Chuck stepped in. "Let's get out of here before the place is swarming with reporters."

They returned to the pad, managing to dodge the press. Davy had stayed at the pad to watch Mac and was waiting inside for them. "Peter, are you alright?"
"I'm fine." Peter replied, walking towards his bedroom.
"Hang on a second, buddy." Micky called. "You're not getting out of this that easy. What the hell happened?"
"Look, Mick, I'm tired and hungry and I need a shower real bad." Peter replied softly. "I was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Let's just leave it at that." He continued to walk in his room and shut the door.
"Well, that's that." Davy stated.
"Oh no, its not." Micky crossed his arms over his chest. "Something is up with him and I plan on finding out what it is."
"Let's take Mac home and let Peter get some rest." Madison picked Mac up out of his playpen. "We'll come back later."
Micky huffed and nodded.

Peter flopped down on his bed and covered his eyes with his arm. What a night, he thought to himself. He hadn't exactly lied to Micky; he was in the wrong place at the wrong time. He should have just bought the stuff and left right away but instead he stuck around and before he knew it, a full-blown party was happening. The booze was flowing and the weed was in abundance. It made him feel strong and in control. Without it, all he could think about was being alone and frightened. He was alone in the house now and sometimes the silence was deafening. He was frightened of their success even though he and the others had worked so hard and for so long to achieve it. He was alone in love. But when he was high, nothing could touch him. All the feelings of inadequacy and nervousness went away. He found himself talking to girls he never would have approached before and they were falling all over him. Wild, sexy girls who wanted nothing but a good time and he was willing to give it to them.

"I'm really worried about him, doll." Micky commented as they walked into the house.
"I know you are, baby." Madison said consolingly. "I am too." They walked inside through the small entrance way and into the living room. "Danielle!"
