Diana felt her eyes welling with tears as she stared down at the beautiful diamond engagement ring Davy was holding. Her knees were weak with love and fear. "I…um, I need to sit down." She struggled to say walking over to the couch.
"I wasn't exactly what I was expecting you to say." Davy replied disappointedly. He followed and sat down next to her. He took her hand in his. "Ana, talk to me."
"I'm scared." She took a deep breath and looked over at him. "I'm scared because this is happening so fast, I'm scared of marriage. But mostly I'm scared of walking out that door and never feeling what I feel when I'm with you."
"How do you feel about me?" He asked cautiously.
"I love you, Davy." It was the first time she said the actual words out loud. "I love you." She said strongly a second time. "But I'm so scared."
He took her face between his hands. "I'm terrified. I fell in love with you the first time I saw you. I never thought it was possible to have so many strong feelings about anyone before. I watched Mike and Micky fall in love and marry and I figured it just wasn't for me, and that was okay because I was really happy with my life." He looked down at the floor. "Then Peter met Cora and she changed him. She made him so happy and that was something we didn't think would happen for Peter ever again after Danielle died. And I realized I wanted something like that. I wanted someone to love and who would love me back no matter what." He looked over at her and smiled. "You're that someone."
"Ask me again." She said softly and smiled, tears running down her face.
He knelt down in front of her, holding her hands. "Will you marry me?"
"Yes!" She threw her arms around his neck.
