~If I Knew - Part 3~

After the funeral, there was a small gathering at Micky and Madison's house. The kind of gathering where people come and go, not knowing exactly what to say, but trying their best not to say the wrong thing. Davy sat alone on the couch acknowledging the kind words of others as they walked by.

"Hi Uncle Davy." Sarah smiled climbing up on his lap and wrapping her tiny arms around his neck.

"Sarah, sweetie, don't bother Uncle Davy right now." Madison went to pick her up.

"No, she's okay." Davy said waving her away.

"Uncle Davy?" She looked up at him, her big blue eyes full of questions.

"What is it, luv?" Davy brushed the hair out of her face.

"What is heaven?"

"Well, it’s a beautiful happy place way up above the sky and the stars where the angels live." He answered feeling a lump growing in his throat.

"Does Aunt Diana live there now?" She asked so innocently.

"Yeah, baby, I guess she does." He picked her up and set her on the floor. "I have to go." With that, he left the house quickly.

Both Madison and Sarah walked to the door watching him get in his car and drive away. "Why did Uncle Davy leave?" Sarah asked.

Madison picked her up in her arms and held her close. "Because he's very sad and he misses Aunt Diana." She sighed. "I just hope he'll be okay." She whispered to herself.

"I think we should go look for him." Madison stated. "He hasn't been home since he left here. It's late and I'm worried."

"Me too." Samantha agreed.

Micky, Mike and Peter all looked at each other and then back at them. "I know he and Diana used to go to this club on Sunset sometimes. We'll start there." Peter said.

Davy was sitting at the bar, a row of empty shot glasses in front of him, when they found him. "What are you guys doing here?" He asked slurring his words.

"We were worried about you." Samantha answered, putting a hand on his shoulder.

He shrugged her off. "As you can see, I'm just fine." He waved to the bartender. "Set 'em up again."

"I think you've had enough." Mike suggested strongly. "Let us take you home."

"I don't want to go home!" He pushed Mike's shoulder almost falling off the barstool. "Leave me alone!"

"Davy, we want to help you." Madison pleaded.

"I don't want you're help." He stormed. "This is something you can't fix, Madison! You can't bring her back!"

"That's it, you're going home." Micky grabbed his shirt, lifted him off the stool and punched him squarely in the jaw, knocking him out.
