With the picnic in full swing, Madison was set to put her plan into motion. The stage was set and Laura made the announcement. "Excuse me, could I have your attention for just a minute." She waited for the room to quiet down.
"What's going on?" Micky asked Mike.
"I don't know. I was going to ask you." Mike drawled.
"Have you seen Maddie?" Micky looked around.
"Nope."
"Uh oh!" Micky shook his head. "This can't be good."
"Thank you." Laura continued. "Our hostess asks for you all to join us downstairs."
"I think you're right." Mike commented with a laugh. "This definitely can't be good."

Everyone gathered in the basement. There was a large sheet separating the room. Laura stood in front of the sheet with her hands clasped together. "And now, live from the basement of Dolenz, please welcome The Monkees!"
Jake pulled back the sheet. There, on the makeshift stage, was Madison behind the drums, Samantha on keyboard, Robbie, Jr. on guitar and Hope on the tambourine.
"Holy shit." Micky commented under his breath and then laughed.
"For our first song tonight, we're going to play an old favorite." Madison spoke into the microphone. "Ready…and one, two, three…"
The new Monkees started "Last Train to Clarksville" and by the end everyone in the room was clapping and cheering, including Micky, Mike, Peter and Davy.
"And now…" Melody walked up on stage. "We'd like the real Monkees to come up here." She smiled at her dad and uncles, giving them the puppy dog eyes. "Please???"
