Reno, Nevada – My first time
Here We Go . . .
Reno Gay Pride Parade, August 2001This photo was taken on the east side of Virgina Street, looking north toward the Reno Arch. |
Reno Gay Pride Parade, August 2001This photo was taken on the east side of Virgina Street, across from "The Gambler" casino. It would be a few years hence before I actually went into "The Gambler." |
Reno Gay Pride Week, August 2001Later that night, We're at Harrah's/Reno. Here's my buddy, Manny, and his friend, Lori. |
Old Reno ArchThis is the old "Reno The Biggest Little City in the World" arch from the 1920s, now located on Lake Street on the east side of downtown. |
Old ShoesThis is a pair of my old shoes. Manny was real happy that I got rid of "those nasty shoes," which I just had to take a farewell picture of. |
New Shoes. . . And here am I with my brand new "Nevados" sneakers. This is at the Virginia Street / Union Pacific railroad grade crossing, which no longer exists, because "ReTrack" put the railroad tracks below the street grade. |
A little reunionWe stopped here at Manny's Friends' house in Reno on our way back to Las Vegas. Manny had used to live in Reno before moving to Las Vegas. |
Five Star Pub, RenoI don't know all these people in this bar photo, but we obviously have a University of Nevada student, Manny in the rear, one of the bar regulars (I know from later visits), and one of Manny's friends a that worked at Cal-Neva. He was lots of fun. |
Five Star Pub, RenoI was lucky enough to meet Mr. Gay Reno, who, obviously, is in the middle of the photo. I was also lucky enough to make out with Bob Cosper, who is on the right-side of the picture. Over ten years later, I still have the slip of paper he gave me with his phone number on it. |
