Parody
The flame of a candle
is the only light
in a dark world
The night is screaming
my ears ringing
with the sound of silence
there's nothing left
of this parody of love
the opulence
of the actuality of hate
is crushing me
as it lifts me above the crowd
I'm on my knees
lying flat on the floor
I would beg for forgiveness
if I knew what needed to be forgiven
I see his eyes, burning
in the extinguished flame
of life and love
and I have to wonder
was it was really anyone's fault?
