Surprise

Jessica felt her breath quicken. Three football teams...practically everyone knew her for something. A slut. A cheater. Or someone who could save a guy's life. Jessica's stomach churned. My medicine Her mind whispered. Ever since she and Evan had broke up, Jessica had started having eye troubles. She was to wear glasses a lot of her time, but with the help of this medicine, she was going to not need glasses any longer. Apparently, after her breakup, Jessica had started having anxiety attacks. She was pretty sure that since Evan wasn't with her, helping her through her anorexia, she was nervous. Anyway, her eyes had gotten bad, and she started to have attacks every once in a while.

Jessica gasped for air, backing against the cool wall that was just a few short steps away. Liz...where are you when I need you? her mind screamed as her breaths became more labored. She dropped to her knees, gasping for breath.

Elizabeth ran down the main stairs that led into the lobby. She glanced nervously at the signs. Gym, gym, gym she chanted to herself. Suddenly, a gold plated sign caught her attention. Gym to the left.

Elizabeth started running before she even noticed, gripping Jessica's medicine tightly. As she rounded a final corner, she smelled right into someone.

"Hey, Liz!" A voice said, large hands gripped her shoulders. Ken.

"Ken! Where...is...Jess?" Liz asked in labored breaths.

"I think, by the halt of my fellow football players, that she's in the gym. I didn't know-" But Elizabeth didn't let him finish.

She pushed through the thick crowd of guys, and for a moment, her mind strayed. Conner, I miss you Elizabeth thought to herself sadly. Suddenly the needing him stopped. Jessica. She needed to get to Jessica.

Greg felt the immediate tug at his chest when he saw Jessica hunched over, gasping for breath. It reminded him of Christian. And how Christian was walking the earth with no memory of Jessica. He took off, across the gym, dropping to his knees, splaying a hand over her back.

"Jessica? Jessica, it's Greg." He heaved her upward, pulling Jessica into his arms.

He stroked her back. "Take a deep breath, Jessica. Calm down."

He looked up nervously, Ken Matthews and Jessica's sister were rushing toward him, eyes wide.

Jeremy watched, horrified at the scene before him. Jessica looked like she had just been shot, and two guys and Elizabeth were bent over Jessica. He gulped, feeling utterly helpless.

"Back off!" Elizabeth growled suddenly. Ken took a step backward, yanking Greg with him.

Elizabeth wrapped a protective arm around her sister. Jessica's mouth flapped open, she was practically begging for the pill that could take away the pain that rang so clear in her stomach.

Jessica felt the medicine work as soon she swallowed it. She wrapped her arms Elizabeth, holding on for dear life.

"You're okay now, honey. You're okay." Elizabeth whispered, hugging Jessica.

Jessica sighed and pulled away from Elizabeth. "Damn. Now how am I supposed to get a guy?"
