Warning this summary is super long and really specific so read it at ur own risk! This is a spoiler!The book begins where Bad Girl left off. Liz and Conner are in the car. Liz is nervous about going in. Conner walks her to her front steps & she gives him another kiss. Jessica comes out and tells Liz to come in but it's to late Mr. Wakefield is already awake and he isn't happy. He tells Conner to go home and calls Liz in!
Her parents start yelling at her while Liz tryies to explain. She gets angry that they aren't listening so she lashes out and tells them that she's never done anything wrong and the first time she does they treat her like a criminal. She leaves to her saying she's sick of it and for them to ground her forever.
Journal entry
Conner says that he and Gary came to an agreement. Alicia is gone and they will both stay out of each other's way.
The next morning Liz doesn't want to see her parents so Jess and Liz eat breakfast in the car. Liz is really nervous about how Conner will act around her. At her locker Conner comes up to her. He starts asking her about what happened etc. Then before he leaves he kisses her Liz is shocked in a good way :) .
Meanwhile Will is waiting for Jessica to come so they can eat lunch together. They go eat in the courtyard. Will is frustrated because it seems as though they never spend any time alone together. He wants to go out tonight but Jessica says she has plans already to go shopping with Tia. Will wants her to break her plans but she won't. They argue a bit but in the end Jessica agrees that they can go out alone on Friday.
Journal Entry
Megan talks about how weird Conner was acting last night. How he was all happy.
Conner is in creative writing. He is so busy paying attention to Liz that when Mr Quigly asks him a question he's spaced out. He gives some lame answer and Liz quickly comes to the rescue. Conner starts thinking that maybe having someone defend him isn't so bad.
Andy is at the Guidance Councilor's Office. At El Carro Andy knew how to make his councilor think he was going to study more but this councilor isn't hearing it. He tells Andy that is he wants to go to college he is going to have to get involved in activities because schools will not accept him if he doesn't get to work.
Megan asks Liz if she hasn't noticed that Conner has been acting weird. That he was all happy. Liz can't believe what she's hearing.
Journal Entry
Melissa is thinking that the way she will get Will back is to remind him of why they were so perfect together.
Lis is making a list of goals as her dad walks in. She explains why she's been doing the things she's done and he actually listens.
Jessica is at the HOJ w/ Jeremy having a very awkward conversation when Will calls her he wants to see her tonight. She says she can't because she has to close. He gets kinda pouty and wants to keep her on the phone. Jeremy meanwhile is working and there are a lot of annoyed customers. Jessica finally gets off the phone and Jeremy gives her the look of death.
The next day at lunch everyone is talking. First they make fun of the "lovebirds" Maria and Ken. Then Jessica invites Conner and Liz to double with her and Will. Everyone is shocked. Andy starts asking if they are a couple but Jessica comes to the rescue and says that maybe they don't want to be labelled.
After lunch Conner is nervous about the date. He doesn't like Will [join the club :)] but he agrees as long as Liz makes it worth his while!
Jessica is walking as Will catches up to her. He tells her made reservations for two at Viva Zapata. Jessica is kind of annoyed that he made plans without checked with her. When she tells him about inviting Conner and Liz he freaks. Turns out he doesn't like Conner either. In the end they agree to go on the double date.
Andy meanwhile is looking through college brochures. He realizes that is he wants to go he has to start working hard but somehow he keeps getting sidetracked!
Liz, Conner, Jess, and Will are on the date and all Will can talk about is football. Conner is bored out of his mind. Jessica asks Conner a question about his music. Conner starts answering her and Will gets up and says he has to go to the bathroom (how rude!) Will and Jessica get into another argument because Will wants to ditch Conner and Liz. Jessica says no she screams at him that she isn't Melissa and he leaves. Conner and Liz take Jessica home. Liz kisses Conner at tells him it wasn't that bad and Conner feels all the tension he felt before float away.
When Will gets home his Mom tells him that Melissa stopped by and left a box for him. He thinks it's a gift but he's wrong it's everything he has ever given her. He is confused. He just can't get Melissa out of his head.
Jessica calls WIll and apologizes for bringing Melissa up. They decide to go on another date this one just them. Evan calls Conner up and invites Conner to some party at Big Mesa. When Liz calls he can't help inviting her too. Tia at Andy are at HOJ. Tia is complaining about how since angel is gone she feels like a widow. Andy is talking about how this year he is going to run track and study more. (this is the excerpt that is up)
Will goes to Melissa to give her back a sweater she gave him in the box. He just wants to drop it off and leave but Melissa is outside so he talks to her. Melissa thanks him for the sweater and leaves now Will s really confused. He can't believe Melissa is over him already. Will and Jessica are at the restaurant. Will is rude the waitress than he starts asking Jess what colleges she's thinking of when. She she tells him. He tells her that one isn't good for her than he says he'll sigh her up for an SAT class. Jessica can't believe how he's acting. When the waitress comes back WIll orders for her. That's the last straw they argue a little that Will says "God! Chill Out Melissa!" Jessica gets up and tells him to take her home.
Liz's parents let Liz out to the party on one condition. If Conner comes in. He goes in and is uncomfortable but as Liz mouths Thank You he knows it's worth it. Liz invites Jessica to the party at after a little hesitation she says yes.
At The party Jessica is looking for Jeremy. While Tia and Andy are at the party. Tia spots a tall, bald, black guy. Just her type. Andy smells trouble as Tia goes off to dance with Trent.
Jessica finally finds Jeremy and they are talking. Jessica is flirting a bit as she suddenly feels someone tugging her hand. It's Will he found out from her mom that she was here and he is not happy. On the other side of the room Liz si sick of hearing everyone talk about Conner being taken by her. She finds Conner and leads a confused Conner into a dark room. Will is about to punch Jeremy but Jessica stops him and pulls him outside. SHe tries to calm him down but Will is embarrassed at he is thinking that he will never forgive Jessica! Will leaves very angry! Jessica is trying to find Liz so she can go home but Jeremy finds her. He asks her to dance. She's reluctant at first but when she's in his arms she forgets about everything.
Liz and Conner are in the room as Liz starts kissing his neck. He asks her what's that for and she responds that she was sick of feeling like a married couple at a cocktail party (LOL). Conner think as about how cool Liz is. just than another couple walks in and blinds them with the light. the guy says he's sorry but Conner says they were already leaving. Just as they are out the door Conner notices the girls dress. He recognizes it because he was with her when she bought it. It's Tia!
