I've heard all those warm fuzzy sayings about how it doesn't matter whether you win or lose, blah, blah, blah. Or that winning isn't everything. Or all that "do-unto-others" stuff. The Fact is , the people who wrote all that crap were losers. I mean, let's face it. Winning matters You've got to know what you want and go after it. And if you don't get it your a loser-no matter how many feel-good quotes you hide behind.
I like to win. I really, really do. And do you know one of the best things about getting what you what? Making losers out of the people I take it from.

Personally I think it takes a bigger man to admit he did the wrong thing and to go back if that's what's really good for him.

Hey, Aames! I met the coolest girl last night at the party. Her name is Tia. She and I hit it off well. I mean really well. Unfortunately she had to leave just when things were getting going, and I didn't have a chance to get her number or anything. All I know is she's a cheerleader at SVH, which means she must know Jessica, which means you might know her. Give me details!

Yeah, i know her. She's cool. I know she had a serious boyfriend for a long time. But don't sweat it. The guy left for college, so they must have ended things beforehand. Tia doesn't seem like the type to mess around behind a guy's back.

The book begins with Tia feeling really guilty about Trent and remembering what happened. Conner comes over and she explains that she hadn't heard from Angel and she just felt lonely. Conner tells her to work it out and not just find "a new groping partner". Andy is at home playing a Star Wars game when his mom comes in she wants to know why Andy got a pink slip Andy explains that his counselor just wanted to know his plans are for after college (I wouldn't worry about it so much he's probably going to be a senior for 13 years!. Than he remembers that he has to join a club but which one.
Tia is feeling really guilty (this is the excerpt that is up) so she decides to go for a drive when she comes back her brother tells her guy called at first she thinks it's Angel but then he brother says that it was a guy named Trent. Tia calls him back and is going to tell him about angel but he sounds so happy to hear from him that she doesn't ave the heart. She agrees to meet him at The HOJ she figures that she can tell him about Angel than.
At school Jessica is determined to work things out with will. She sees him and is about to kiss him when Will pulls back. He tells her that t isn't going to work and that he is going back to Melissa. jessica can't believe it. Andy asks his friends what they think he's good at. After making fun of him a bit they ask him why he wants to know. He explains about what the counselor said anyway Tia suggest the Outdoors Club turns out Andy loves camping. Andy thinks he'll do it if only to get his friends off his back. At the Outdoors club the first person he meets is a perky sophomore named Six. The Club is run by her brother Travis. They are going hiking on Sunday. Six volunteers to be Andy's partner. They talk Six offers to sell him gear for a discount her family owns a store. and Andy ends up inviting her to the Riot. Angel feels really guilty about not getting back to Tia but he is really busy he sends her a short e-mail.
Elizabeth knows that Jessica feels bad so she invites Maria and they have bad 80s movie night. Tia and Trent see each other at the HOJ Trent agrees that they took things to fast and invites her out. Tia doesn't respond and says she has to go. Trent asks if he can call her and Tia says that the has her number it's his choice how he uses it.
Liz is all excited because Conner has a gig at the HOJ. She tells Jessica to come jessica doesn't really want to but in the end she agrees. Tia's mom talks to Tia bout Angel. Turns out all the calls Tia has been making have made the phone bill high. She tells Tia that she has to understand that Angel is busy. tia knows that but it's hard. Jessica meets Evan. She can't believe that Andy is friends with him. He looks to grungey to her with his shaggy hair. Evan leaves to get a drink and when he comes back he gives Jessica and Andy a drink he says that there was a long line. Jessica thinks that was sweet=t and feels bad that she judged him badly. Jessica is staring at Evan when he asks her if she's staring at him. She tells him that she was just wondering why he didn't order coffee. He tells her that he can't because he thinks of all the poor immigrant workers picking beans for pennies!(good for him) Jessica feels insulted she tells him that he doesn't know anything about her. He tells her to enlighten him what does she do? She says that she is a cheerleader etc. He explains that he sorta is too. except he cheers for political awareness, human rights etc. Jessica can't believe that he made her look so bad in front of her friends. The next day at the HOJ Jessica is still fuming over Evan. When she sees a really handsome guy enter. His hair is sleeked back as if he was just swimming. Jessica asks him if she can get him anything. He tells her Hi she doesn't recognize him. It's Evan. He tells her that he though that blondes are dumb thing wasn't true. Jessica can't get over the difference. They argue for a bit when Liz comes in breathless. She invites them to the Riot to celebrate that she got a job. She's going to be selling make-Up. They both agree.
Jessica gets dressed up and Liz asks if that's for Evan. Liz is happy that Jessica is moving on. Angel is trying to write to Tia but he just can't say what he wants to on paper he decides to go visit her! Andy calls six and tells her about celebrating Liz's new job. Six agrees she asks if they are going to eat and he says sure. Six and Andy are eating and Andy is telling a story. Six is cracking up and Andy is really happy! He isn't used to being the center of attention. (Yeah An Andy Storyline!)
At the HOJ Jessica is looking around for Evan but all she sees is a grungy guy talking to Maria and Football guys talking to Ken. She is not happy. Liz tells her that if she is looking for Evan he is talking to Maria. Jessica can't believe Evan can pull such a Jeckell/Hyde thing with his looks. Suddenly she's not so excited to be there. Six hits it off with everyone at the Riot. Andy can't believe that for once he's not the hanger on. Six has to leave early since she has to work. They are about to leave when Liz calls Andy over. She tells him that she thought that Six and him were friends. He says they are. Liz tells him that Six has a crush on him. Andy can't believe it but as they are leaving he stares at Six and she blushes he wonders if Liz is right? Everyone leaves to go dance and Jessica is left alone at the table with Evan. Something doesn't feel right. He asks her to dance and she agrees. As they are dancing she thinks of Will but she stops herself something about the dance doesn't feel right. Than she sees Cherie and Lila staring at her. She can't handle it so she just leaves Evan in the middle of the dance floor.
The next day Liz comes into Jessica's room she wants to know what was going on with her last night? Liz asks her if she was ashamed of Evan something that Liz can't believe. Jessica says that it just didn't feel right. Liz tells her that she should apologize to evan. Jess snaps at her and tells her to mind her own business. In the end though Jessica decides that she needs to talk to Evan. Tia and Trant are having fun bowling. When Trent offers to buy her food she hesitates because that would make this a date. Trent is so nice that Tia caves but she tells him that next time it's on her. The words are out of her mouth before she realizes what she said. Andy is at Six's store. He is worried that she is going to act as if she was interested in him but she just says that his friends were nice and starts showing him things to buy. Andy is glad he was right Six is not interested in him.
At the end of there date Trent is giving Tia the I'm going to kiss you look. Tia is so confused than she sees Angel's car in the driveway she gets out of Trents car in a hurry. She walks in and Angel hugs her. He starts kissing her passionately and Tia is surprised Angel hasn't kissed her like that in a long time. Tia wonders what was wrong with her. Angel takes Tia out but Tia is still full. She screams at Angel a little because he says some comment about all the e-mail she's sent. In the end Tia says they can talk about it later she is just so happy to have him back and she knows that she will never talk to Trent again.
Tia needs to someone to talk to and goes to see Conner. She walks in and finds him with Elizabeth she tells him about her dilemma and he tells her to be straight with Angel. Tia gets angry and tell him to name one girl he has been faithful to. Conner gets angry and tells her to leave. Tia can't believe it Conner has never placed a girl over her. Angel is at the HOJ he is getting coffee for Tia. He sees Jeremy and Jeremy tells him he's sorry about Tia. Angel is confused and tells him in an I mean business tone to tell him what's going on. Jeremy tells Angel that Tia has been seeing someone else.
Trent come over and invites Tia to breakfast while Tia is trying to get rid of him. Angel see them together he thinks to himself that he is not letting some poser get between him and Tia. Angel is about to hit him but Tia gets in the middle and tells him that Trent didn't know about him. Tia looks and Trent and says she's sorry Trents just leaves.
Andy is climbing the mountain he makes it and feels great. Six and him sit down and Six kisses him Andy is too much in shock to do anything.
Angel and Tia talk. She explains that she couldn't handle him being away. He tells her that there were times he could have talked to her but he just couldn't deal with missing her. She tells him that the whole Trent thing was her way of dealing. Angel tells her that maybe they should take a break. Tia agrees. He leaves for school again and Tia thinks that this is the second time she's said goodbye to him but this time it feels like forever.

Conner just called. Tia and Angel broke up. Tia and Angel. You know what that means? If it can happen to them it can happen to anyone.
