The book begins with Ken. He has to go to the bathroom and is waiting for his dad to come out. He's getting kinda worried and knocks when no one answers he's really worried than a women comes out. Her name is "Asha" & she says that she's a friend of his dads. Ken is kinda worried because he doesn't like change.
Back at the Wakefields Jessica is in the bathroom as liz comes in/ Liz asks her if she wants a ride but Jessica says no. She's relieved that Liz didn't ask about the Evan thing again.
Evan is swimming in Andys pool relaxing. He's trying to clear his mind but Jessica keeps popping into it. He knows that what happened isn't important but he can't stop thinking about her!
Liz is running out the door. As she gets into Conner's car he pulls her into a kiss. Liz is really happy. He asks her if they can continue after school but Liz has to work. Conner gets all cold with her. She asks him if something is wrong & he asks her the same thing. She tells him that she's a little worried about Jessica. She doesn't want her rushing into things. Conner gets all defensive about Evan saying Evan doesn't take girls seriously etc. Liz wonders if Conner feels the same way about her. The don't talk the rest of the way to school. (I think Conner just feels that Liz isn't spending enough time with him)
Ken talks to his dad but his dad doesn't give too any details. Ken feels weirded out by Asha though.
Andy is at school hiding from Six when he runs into Tia she asks him who he's hiding from & he says Six. He explains what happened on the mountain & Tia is all happy because that his first real kiss. Andy is terrified though. tia tells him to talk to Six in person if he wants her as a friend but Andy is really nervous!
At lunch Tia, Liz, and Maria are at the table when Jess walks by. Tia is really depressed. Jessica asks her if she's going to date Trent but tia doesn't even want to think about it.(guess we're not going to see Trent again.)
Jessica thinks that the best way to get over Angel is to go out with another guy. Some one asks about Evan and how Jessica ran out on him. Maria tells Jessica that Evan is not her type because he's unpopular & grungy Jessica gets mad but when they ask her to name a non-jock she has dated she can't do it! Everyone laughs and Jess continues to defend herself as she says that she was planning on asking evan out. (that does not sound like a good idea to me!)
Andy walks up to Six's locker ready to talk to her. In the end he asks her out. (This was a totally cute scene)
Jessica talks to Evan (this is the excerpt that's up) she asks him out! (can't you just here the ominous music in the backround?)
Liz is upset as Conner comes out of school. She's going to be late for work. Conner again is action distant & angry. Liz tells him that they can hang out Wednesday & Conner sarcastically responds great i can actually see my girlfriend. She asks him if he wants to come in & he says no! (again ominous music playing!)
Ken gets a call saying that he's won the spirit award. His dad didn't even mention it to him. Ken is worried. It seems his dad isn't paying attention to him lately. When Maria finds out she thinks it's great but Ken wishes he were a starter. Ken goes to visit his dad. He asks him if he knew about the award & his dad says yes. After talking a bit the phone rings it Asha Ken asks his dad if he wants to go with him to the awards dinner & his dad says yes but he's distracted by the phone call. Ken can' believe his dad dissed him for his girlfriend.
Andy & Six go on there date at the HOJ. They sit with Conner, Maria & Tia. Andy can't believe the way she gets a long with everyone. She even makes Conner smile. andy starts thinking that maybe having a girlfriend isn't such a big deal after all.
Evan takes Jessica to a new age restaurant they talk and flirt for awhile.(okay it's official I think Evan is a decent guy for Jessica) Evan tells Jessica she's gorgeous as Jessica responds maybe there's hope for you yet! After there date Andy takes Six home she leans in & kisses him. But while there kissing Andy doesn't feel anything it's like he's not even kissing her meanwhile Six is flushed & excited he invites her to the Riot on Friday.
The next day Liz goes to see Conner by his locker and Jessica sees Evan they talk for awhile Evan invites them to his meet. Conner says that Liz & him can't make it because they are going to spend time together before she goes to work but Liz says they should go. You could tell Conner doesn't want to but he agrees. Jessica can't because of practice. Jessica spots Will & Melissa she says bye right away & runs off. Ken is in class just as he takes out his notebook a note falls out. It's from Asha congratulating him on his award. She says something about how her mom used to do that for her. That comment annoys him since Asha is taking away the little family that he has left. & he doesn't want her to be part of his family at all.
Will comes out to Jessica's locker & he says that he's really happy about her & Evan and that opposites attract. Jessica asks him what he means by that. She gets all defensive & asks him if he thinks that she was waiting for his permission(LOL) Will leaves & Jessica wonders when he is going to stop affecting her(I wonder that myself)
At lunch Conner eats at home as Liz wonders what's wrong with him. Jessica is at practice and it's cancelled. Melissa & her sidekicks go to the mall to buy a sweater for Will. Suddenly Jessica decides to go to Ean's meet. She takes all the cheerleaders with her to cheer for the swim team :) They cheer a bit but Jessica finds that it's totally different from football. she starts daydreaming about Will (UGH!) Evan wins and she runs over to him you could tell he's happy to see her.
Ken talks to his dad about the note Asha left in his bag. His dad gets angry and storms out.
Jessica is at work when she sees Jeremy she feels a burst of something. (What is up with her) Jeremy invites her to the banquet dinner. She tells him that she just started seeing another guy but Jeremy tells her that he still wants her to go but as friends because he knows she'll enjoy it! Jessica says yes but wonders how Evan will react.
Jessica tells Evan about going out with Jeremy. Evan bursts and tells her that she needs to decide what she wants and to call him when she does. At the dinner just as Jessica is stating to relax she sees Will & Melissa walk in hand in hand she freaks out & excuses her self to the bathroom. Just as she is getting out she sits down & she sees Evan! (LOL)
Ken is looking for his dad. He has to sit with Will & company. As they call his name he gives a short speech. He runs into a guy that his dad works with & he tells him that it's too bad his dad had to work late. The guy tells him that his dad got off early he even heard him make reservations at a restaurant. Ken can't believe it he leaves the awards behind & wonders if he'll ever got to practice at all!
They announce the award for top male swimmer & it's Evan for the second year. Jessica can't believe how great Evan looks or how beautiful the girl he's with looks. Jeremy see's the way she's looking and tells her to go. Jessica can't belive how nice Jeremy is. She confronts Evan & it comes out that both her exes are there and Evan tells her if she's ever thought of being single!
At the Riot Andy walks in with Six. Suddenly a song he and Tia also dance to comes on. Tia grabs him & they go to the dance floor. When Andy comes back Six is not there and she's mad. Jessica & Liz are on there way to the Riot as they walk in Liz comes over to Conner. She tells him that she got off work early to be with him. She tells her that he missed her (aaahhh) Jessica meanwhile has decided to give up guys completely! Andy goes to Six & apologizes. She tells him that she feels like she's dating his friends since they never spend time alone together. She asks him if he want to be with her. His mind screams that he doesn't't know but he tells her yes that they will go out tomorrow alone!
