"A short Story "
By Joyce

“ Hope and A Humming bird “

Summer for me, meant the return of my
beloved Hummingbirds. I call them mine,
because every year I hang feeders around
my balcony, and I’m certain some of the
same ones come back year after year.

They give me a sense of continuity.
I need something to count on.In two years.
I’ve lost important people in my life,
and soon more to follow.I often thought.
Why live at all, if we’re just going to
die,I wondered, and I thought. Then one
day as I was sitting outside.

A hummingbird appeared,
but it was hurt, and I knew I had to
save it and bring it back to health
I was needed and I was going to get it
right. (TO BE CONTINUED)

Homeless need:
By Richard J. Faykosh
Now that pads will be closing its doors
at the end of the month. Where will the
homeless people go? Well they will favor
a place away from public view. Away from
the public eyes and paths.

Some will once again try to live under
the bridges in the area. Other will put
up tent cities like the one where
Mr. Rick Allen Walker once had a tent
that had been known as tent city.
And where 29-year-old Alexis Vigo Vega
was found frozen next to the tracks.

But I truly doubt that many will be
there at that location any more.
Because of the popularity of the
location, Many will be found at the
library or in the restaurants in
the area or in the parks.

Most of the homeless will choose to be
away from the public eye. That is why we
need a shelter/center year around.
And I hope that with vision they build
with the thoughts of growth, not out but up.

Election News :
BY. R. J. Faykosh

Kent Baldwin And I have been real busy
passing out campaign literature. To
discover that one or more of our new
to be elected trustees are involved
in hiring people to rip down other
peoples campaign signs. We discovered
this over the past few weeks when
Kent’s Signs have been removed from
there locations. It’s strange that
only Kent’s Signs have been removed.

This is not a good thing to happen.
And I personally will not vote for
someone so into being elected to be
with their already friends on the
board to continue to rip off the
Carpentersville public. And that is
what they are doing. I have stated we
need to clean up the city council
by getting rid of the old.

But this cannot be done until we
watch whom your voting for. I will be
voting for a person more worried about
the welfare Of Carpentersville then
ripping down someone else’s signs.
I will be voting for Kent Baldwin.

POEMS OF THE STREET
POEM # ONE
Meet me at the gate:

By Richard Faykosh 4/1/05

Meet me at the gate.
For the path is long.
I may be a bit late.
In my heart is a song.

Meet me at the gate.
I just know your there.
Everything I now face is fate.
It’s the cross I must bear.

Meet me at the gate.
The road is a long dark way.
Hope to be there by the date.
Together we’ll have a happy day.

Meet me at the gate.
As your there in the light.
I’ll travel to loose the hate.
After we gather it will be right.

POEM # TWO
She! :

By Richard Faykosh 4/1/05

She comes walking through the window,
Her feet not touching the ground,
She smiles and waves an olive branch,
As I turn around.
Slowly she floats to me,
As If She ‘s on an invisible hand.
In this clutter of movement,
I just stammer and glare.
She opens her mouth with silence.
Producing waves of flowers,
The air is thick with fragrance.
Taking her left hand,
She touches the banister pole.
It changes to pearl and gold.
As fairies wiz about.
We live in a world of doubt.
