Sad news from us to you!
By Richard J. Faykosh
Let's just say that my world was set back a bit, when I went to our friends at Big Timber Graphics 12 East Main St. East Dundee IL. 60118 when the owner informed me that because of the lack of business he could no longer afford to print our little paper for free any more. So now we must find someone that can and will help us sell ad space for our little paper. So, this just may be the last edition of Trinity News that you may see. But we will continue putting it on line for those wishing to get a copy. So now for the next month Joyce and I have to decide whether we should just close operations or look for some ways for us to pay for the printing of Trinity news. Even though we are looking at other ways to proceed with our quest.
The other possible solution would be if we could land another printing establishment that would donate printing our edition. This we have been actively pursuing but at this date we have not found anyone willing to help out. So we are forced into paying more money then the paper makes to complete the printing of this edition. So, I guess we will have to work it by the month to month to see if we can stay alive.
So, by finding someone that will go out and do the foot work of selling ad space.
Or by finding some one willing to print the edition each month.
Then there is one other thing that could happen by the end of this month. It would be that there was no way to pay for the printing, not finding anyone that could sell ad space. And that we would be forced to be an on line paper only. So, I guess it's all up to God and what he wants us to do at this point.
Any ideas: TRINITY20@aol.com Thank you! For being there for us over the Years.. Any comments to this article send your replies

Where we started!
By Richard Faykosh
Before there was Trinity news there was an idea! At that time I thought of putting out an edition called the bike path reader. Because I was homeless and wanted a way to get my resume out so people could see it. Looking for some kind of employment that would help me launch myself out of being homeless. I was living in my car at that time, and I was sleeping wherever I could hide the car at night. Many times the police did tell me to move it or loose it. So I would move to another location and once again try to get some sleep. The weather started to get colder each night and I had to finally give in to sleeping at Public Action to Deliver Shelter located at that time at the Salvation Army in Elgin. So I would drive from Carpentersville to Elgin to sleep the first real cold night. The paper was still an idea in my head but I lacked the motivation on how to get it done. I remember it was cold that first night. And I walked in the double doors leading to a stairway going down to the basement. There was two people standing by a table as I walked up. They asked me to sign in and told me to grab a pad, 2 sheets, blanket, pillow, and towel and find a spot to place it. This is what I did. I then asked for some soap and I went back to my car to get a change of clothes. And used the shower there to get cleaned up. They had made some coffee that I was glad to get. I sat there at a table with many others watching TV. I started talking to a few of the people there and soon I was spouting out with my idea of starting a newspaper. Two people were interested in what I was talking about and voiced their desire on the same subject. We figured that we would get together the next morning for coffee and talk about the possibilities. I then went to bed with high hopes and things rolling through my head.
The next morning we got up and got our bedding and things and stacked our Pads. We then went out to my car and the two young men told me of a place that I should sign up with that could help me in many ways. It was called the WaySide Center on Dundee Ave. But it would not be open until 9:00am. We had to leave out of the PADS basement by 7am. So I took the two with me over to McDonalds. Where we got our Coffee and started what would soon become Trinity News. But I still did not know how to get this thing rolling. After I had went to Wayside Center and started my progress of getting a game plan going to get myself back on my feet. I went to the Gail Borden Library. And found out that I needed a regular address to get a library card. But I did get a chance to do some reading and found out that I could get something to eat at a soup kitchen. I went back to Carpentersville and picked up my little lady Joyce that was staying at her parent's place. We went together to the soup kitchen then I took her back home. We decided that we would spend more time together during the day. I went back to pads that night and talked to someone that was willing to help me in my adventure. I talked to a Priest from St. Thomas Moore. He said, that he could see our doing this a good thing and that he would help us in this adventure. A volunteer also told me that I could use his address as my mailing address so I could get a library card. Now things seemed to be going together. I had met a man that I knew in the past by the name of Bo. So Bo and I started hanging around each other as well as the two other men that I was getting ideas from to start the paper. The more that was said about it, the more people got excited. And the more my hopes grew. Well I remember the next day after doing my rounds from PADS to McDonalds to the Wayside center. I made it to the library and signed up for a library card. With this being made I had to wait for the card to be delivered and that took a few days. I would go about my routine of going from PADS to McDonalds, Wayside center, to Joyce's house to the library. Back to the Joyce's place to the Soup kitchen back to pads for a few days. Then I got my library card that was the starting of my mass plans.
The night I got my library card from the volunteer I was happy. But I still did not know as yet how all of this would go together.
One of the three a afro American guy that was one of the two that was with me at that first meeting, went out with a group of men to shovel snow had a seizure and went to the hospital. We never saw him again. The other man Chris kind of just sit back and really did not reflect any ideas. But Bo got right in with me and the idea. So the next morning we left PADS and went for Coffee at McDonalds, over to the wayside center then over to the library. I talked to a worker there by the name of David and told him what I wanted to do. He suggested me to sign up to use a computer. But I had never used one of these things, and would know nothing about it. So I signed up for a computer to use for two hours. That is how long you could use one. Only two hours a day. So I started to ask people how to do this and that on the computer, to my surprise they showed me. I bought what is called a disc to save what had completed. The library staff and David also showed this to me. So every morning when the library opened at 9am Bo and I would be one of the first people in the door. And I would get on the computer and I started to put together the first format that would be the first Trinity News Edition. We were getting so much support from those around us a lady-donated Boxes of paper for our first edition. Another donated a computer and printer to us and yet another gave us a computer desk. And this became more of a job then I had ever had and a very important one. I vowed to myself that Trinity would some day be a real paper. And that it would make enough money to help lots of homeless people. Our first edition was printed and was put out to the public 02/01/1996 we printed 400 copies and Saturday before we came out with our first edition.
The Daily Herald came out with a story about our adventure. That was the start Of Trinity News. We spent two hours a day printing copies of the Trinity news from where ever we could find someone with a copy machine that would take our blank paper and put the print on it. Then we got Victory Press to start printing copies, Then Speedy Print, Victory press and then Big Timber Graphics. For these people that have in the past years helped us do what we had to do we thank and pray for you. And the 6 homeless deaths that have occurred over the years we regret that we were not in the position to do something to help them. And that is why we keep doing what we do. To someday be able to help the homeless, And I would hate to see it just vanish. Thank you for your support.

Who should you vote for?
By R.J.

How much money will be spent on more police? How much money will be spent on making streets into roads? How much money will be spent on traffic control devises? How much money will be spent when the trustees can’t fix the problems now in Carpentersville? And the cost and expense of another link from Route 31 to Route 25, The City’s around Carpentersville do not want another link in their cities. Why should we want to father the burden? Lets look at the Candidates:
Kent Baldwin Thinks that money can be spent more wisely. To better the village, Gosh I do believe here is some one that has a brain to better things instead of spending foolishly on something that this city should not do. If a bridge is needed then build it somewhere else, That is what your neighboring city’s want Carpentersville to do because they do not want the problems it will bring and the expense.
Linda Ramirez Sliwinski Is not sure that a crossing bridge is needed. And thinks the money should go to make the village better.
Calgarey Penn Is in support of a bridge crossing instead of fixing the problems the village has now.
Robert Whitehouse: Is in support of a bridge crossing instead of fixing the problems the village has now.
Judy Sigwalt: Is in support of a bridge crossing instead of fixing the problems the village has now.
Denise Nalysnyk Is in support of a bridge crossing instead of fixing the problems the village has now.
James Frost Is in support of a bridge crossing instead of fixing the problems the village has now.

POEMS OF THE STREET
POEM # ONE
The Sun Shines

BY R.J Faykosh 3/5/3

THE SUNSHINES,
AS THE DAY BEGAINS,
IT WARMS THE SOUL.
THE SUNSHINES,
AND WARMS BY TOUCH,
A RADIANCE OF WARMTH.
THE SUNSHINES,
VERY GENTLE IS THE GLOW,
AND IN THE SUN,
I TO WILL GROW!

POEM # TWO
Setting Quiet
By R. J. Faykosh 3/5/03

Setting Quiet!
Opening doors long closed,
Letting the locked up shine,
It’s all in mind.
Setting Quiet!
Opening feelings,
Long shut up,
And tucked away.
Setting quiet!
Enjoying the peace,
Letting it flow,
With in and out.
