"Yes, you can "
By Joyce

"Courage"

is the only magic worth having.
It is not because things are
different that we do not dare,
it is because we do not dare that
they are difficult.
Do not go where the path may lead,
go instead where there is
no path and leave a trail.

"Courage"

is not the absence of fear,
but rather the judgment that
something else is more important than fear:
If we are facing in the right direction,
all we have to do is keep on walking:
Only those who will risk going too far,
can possibly find out how far one can go.

God bless and have a good day. LOVE JOYCE
P.S. " If you have an angel story. Please!
Send it to me. Any comments on this please

By Richard J. Faykosh
As a member of Citizens for Fiscal Reform,
a grass roots Carpentersville-based
citizens action group,
I would like to express my
extreme dissatisfaction with the way the
Carpentersville village board has
been handling the village’s finances
over the past four years.
Their failure to provide investment protection protocols,
account for state motor fuel taxes,
properly account for millions of state loan
dollars for village sewer treatment plant work,
as well as a host of other serious failures,
has resulted in,
among other things,
a no opinion audit for the past three years.
One would think that after the first
no opinion audit the village would have took steps
to correct the problems.
But,
the village has done nothing but deny the problems exist.
The board of Trustees has failed
miserably in performing their mandated
duties and continue
to fail the citizens of Carpentersville.
At every Village of Carpentersville board meeting
that I attend,
I hear one of the Trustee’s comment on how
much faith he/she has in the village staff.
They say that the Village Treasurer is doing a good job.
That the Finance Director is performing better than they expected.
That the I.T. Director is well qualified and experienced.
They constantly praise the staff for the
jobs their doing.
Then I read articles in papers,
hear the radio reports,
listen to what people at meetings have to say
and I become dumbfounded.
How can these Trustee’s possibly believe that
the Village Staff is doing a good job?
Their track record is horrible.
Unless you’re living under a rock,
you’ve heard of the financial problems
that the Village is currently under going.
No need to repeat it here but,
believe me,
it’s bad.
Go check out the Village website
and tell me if you think the I.T. Director
is worth the money she makes.
Sixteen-year-old kids are putting together better sites.
I could write a book about how bad the Village Staff’s performance is.
I could call it
‘Examples of Incompetence or How Lazy people get paid’.
The trustee’s in this Village need to open
their eyes and realize that
change is coming and the residents will
no longer tolerate inadequate and unfit government.
It’s time for them to step up to the plate and do
something about the Villages incapable employees.
I urge the citizens of the village to
unite and hold those responsible
accountable for their actions

I would like to say
By KENT BALDWIN

I personally wish that Senator Steven Rauschenberger
would run. I feel that he is the best
candidate to be in the U.S Senate.
He knows his work,
works hard,
Always in Springfield,
and is there for the people.
He goes out of the way to help his fellow man.

Steve and Betty Rauschenberger
are the nicest people you can know.
They will take the time to listen
and not blow you off.
If Steven Rauschenberger
decides to run,
I'll do everything in my power to help him get elected.

Also I will be putting my Block party
together set for August 21st 2004
Contact me if you would like to help.

to recover what has been lost.

STORY ABOUT ONE OF OUR HOMELESS
By R.J.

We stopped off and I got her another rose.
So she had two roses so far. And the date
was just beginning. We got to the boat show
and after parking the car, I grabbed my
dress coat and in the three of us went.
I had a camera with me and asked the
lady (Jean) to take a picture of Joyce and
I before a boat. She did so. We had
only been together for four hours at this
point. So, we visited the tables that
were set up and I bought her some things
and I gave her some cash so she could
buy me something. She got me some
after-shave, And I got her two statues
a dog and a unicorn . I think she still
has the dog. We left there and we dropped
off Jean at my house, And then we headed
to Barrington Square to a movie, but I
stopped in to see a friend that worked
at the Burger King there. I once worked
there also. Then off to see the movie.
The movie had Lesley Nelson in it but
it was not that good, we stayed as long
as we could stand it. But we did leave.
So, from there I drove to Humana Gardens
on Mc Clean Blvd. Where I had made
reservations. But, I stopped and got a rose
at the white hen Pantry across the street.
We went in and sat down and the waitress
brought us both tea to drink. We had
Teriyaki Beef, Chicken, With soup, Joyce,
got a fortune cookie and its message was
this is the start of a lifetime. And after
the meal her Fortune said, Hold this moment
forever, We left there after we ate
and Joyce was very tired. So, I drove her
home to her mothers where I kissed her good
night. And I went home. I called her the next
day to get what feed back I could get.
I think by the feed back she was very happy
that we spent the day together. Now our
talk was more personal and their were a
lot more questions. She did enjoy being
with my dog Abe, she thought he was a keeper.

POEMS OF THE STREET
POEM # ONE
Our countries birthday:

By Richard Faykosh 5/31/04

"I pledge allegiance to the flag
of the United States of America
and to the Republic for which it stands,
one Nation
under God,
indivisible,
with liberty and justice for all."

POEM # TWO
Nations Birthday

Francis Scott Key (1779 - 1843)

Oh,
say can you see,
by the dawn's early light,
What so proudly we hailed
at the twilight's last gleaming?

Whose broad stripes and bright stars,
through the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched,
were so gallantly streaming?
And the rockets' red glare,
the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night
that our flag was still there.
O say,
does that star-spangled banner
yet wave
O'er the land
of the free
and the home of the brave.
