Carpentersville News :
By Richard J. Faykosh
Even the new un-trustees are having its
problems. It seems that the new finance
director that came in a few months ago
has already packed his bags to get out
of the job. Now, before the elections
the old city council in one month,
sent out word that after three years
of having an unbalanced budget all
of a sudden completed there task.
I asked the question then how could
they balance a budget in one month
that no one could balance in three
years in one month.
Now the new budget director is
leaving town. Running like a dog with
his tail between his legs, do we have
something to concern ourselves about?
I’d say yep we do? Keep a watchful
eye what comes from the city council
up coming meetings. Keep an eye on your
city government.

Homeless news from Elgin :
BY. R. J. Faykosh
After many weeks of East Dundee voicing
its concern about the new homeless
shelter site on rt.31. And about how a
woman was killed by a homeless lady in
her rented house and then set on fire
and drove away in her car. Was very
shocking. But lets look at the story a
little bit more. 1st. you should never
pick up someone hitching a ride from the
side of the road. 2nd. The homeless person
was also mentally ill. And had not
taken her medication for a while. 3rd.
She was passing through to get from one
point to another. So if the lady did not
pick up her hitchhiker and take her to her
residents perhaps the killing would not
have happened in the way it did. It would
have happened somewhere else,
Possibility in Carpentersville or
Crystal Lake.
And this murder may not have ever
happened. This is the problem that I have written
about before. Homeless people as a group
is composed of Mental ill persons not able
to afford medications, drug and alcohol
abusers, with those street people that use
the system to get what they want, Then there
is the few homeless persons not wanting to
be homeless striving to get back on their
feet. And that is what the shelter is for to
help those wanting to get back on their feet.
Yes! You will get the others also wanting
to abuse the system and some of them will
get away with that. And in doing that we hope
they get some help also to better themselves.
So this past month Elgin did the first right
thing it’s done in over 50 years. Addressed
the homeless problem just a little bit.
By saying okay to the site to be built on
Rt.31. I only hope the P.A.D.S is wise enough
to build it so that they can add on to floors
upwards, Because it will be too small to
build outwardly. Thumbs up to the new
Elgin City Counsel for doing the right
and just thing.

POEMS OF THE STREET
POEM # ONE
What does it mean?

By Richard Faykosh 7/1/05

7:00am
It’s time again
Shake the tree
See what falls
Open the door
To the ocean floor
Don’t stumble
On silver moss
Take a drink
Of pollen
As you sprout
Gray gold wings
What does this all mean?

POEM # TWO
Nothing changed:

By Richard Faykosh 7/1/05

She stepped out the window
To fly in the blue sky
To return to bitterness
The strife thought
Left behind
Open the door to seeking
With opal eyes
Looking
To find nothing has changed.
