The Secret to Life

Life isn't about keeping score. It's not a question of how many friends you have or who accepts you. It's not about this weekends plans, who you're dating or used to date or even how many people you've dated or if you haven't been out with anyone. It isn't about who you've kissed. It's not a question of sex, family or how much money they've accumulated, or the kind of automobile you drive. Or where you went to school, college, or church. It's not about beauty or clothes, shoes, or the music you like. It's not a question of hair color, black red, brown or blond or if your skin is light or dark. It's not about intelligence, grades, or street smarts. It's not about the clubs you join or your sporting achievements. It's not your resume or the cups you've won. But life is who you love and who you cause pain to. It's about who you make happy. It's about true friendships, starting rumors or spreading gossip. It's about compassion and passing judgements on others. It's about ignoring or helping those in need. It's a question of revnege, fear, ignorance, jealousy and conceit. It's about the cultivation and spreading of hate and love. Most of all life is about how you inspire or poison the hearts of others. That's what life is all about.

Some Friends are Forever

Some people come into our lives and quickly go.
Some people move our souls to dance.
They awaken us to understanding with the passing whisper of their wisdom.
Some people make the sky more beautiful to gaze upon.
They stay in our lives for awhile, leave footprints in our hearts, and we are never, ever the same.

The sky cries of a life that is lost
She knows the heart is cold
But the memory is the most painful cost
The sun set on all of the hope
While birds sing thier mourful song
She tosses a flower casually to the wind
Closes her eyes and wishes for the moon.
