Hey everybody,
Um, well lets see, I haven't got much to say this week, probably because
I've got strep throat and I can't really think cause I feel like crap, so
let me just talk about Tomorrow:
Well I haven't really got any personal attachments or assocations with the
lyrics, well sometimes I do, like see my Dad has this big thing about
money, and stuff like he is always getting in big fights with my Mom, and bout
money related things and stuff and then he'll be like later on "oh money
doesn't mater" so the "you say that money isn't everything, oh well i'd
like to see you leave without it" bit i can kinda realate to and i dunno, this
is a good song to listen to when i'm just feeling disgusted with my Dad and
stuff.. but also, this song gives me a sense of hope that things will be
alright if i "just wait till tomorrow" and it also brings back a lotta
memmories from around the time the song came out, and i really love this
song cause this is the song that started it all you know?
And now about silverchair being as famous if they had been a girl band..
Personally I hate to say it but I don't think they would have been, I mean
I would have still liked them if they're lyrical content and music had
stayed the same, basicly, it wouldn't have really made a diffrence to me, but you
have to admit, one of the big reasons silverchair got so popular is that
people kept on thinking of Daniel as the next Kurt Cobain, or the
rencarnation of him cause our socity was so obsessed with him at the time
any young Blonde haired Blue eyed talented boy would have been named the
next Kurt, and so everyone started to pay attention because of that, not
to mention the flocks of Teenies and stuff which they wouldn't have had
either if they had been an all female band you know? I highly doubt if they would
have even been mentioned out side of Australia if it hadden't been for
that. I mean think about all the fantastic bands that are in Australia that we
in America never get to hear about, like Magic Dirt, Spiderbait, Amonnia, we
hear nothing of any of them at all, they never get any air play, we never
hair articles or interveiws with them in our magaizines they are practily
non exiscatnt to the media and most of the general puplic here. And that
sucks.. So although, I think silverchair would have been successful over in
Australia I don't think the media would have given them a chance over
here, and I think that's really sad.

Okay I've decided to post my feelings on Tomorrow, and there are a lot.
Okay first off I live in a town where everyone is doing well financially. I
just mean like the kids I go to school with have the opportunity to be the
biggest preppy cocks they want (as do I, but I'm not) and they are. So when I
listen to tomorrow, it just hits home because all of these rich preps are so
snotty it's almost funny. Also I like Tomorrow because my bro and I have this
inside joke and I call him "fat boy" (don't ask) so even tho he doesn't like
silverchair he always wants to hear the "fat boy song". Also with Tomorrow
is that it's just such an awesome song to listen to. When I'm bored I just
turn on Frogstomp and think about the song. Okay, 'nuff outa me! See everyone

god i love barq's.:) anyways.. about Tomorrow. I really don't have a
connection with it. The lyrics aren't really that relevent to me. all i
can say is that it sounds cool :) As for the question of the week.. I
think that silverchair would have had the same success if they were an
all girl band. If they sang the same songs as they do now, then why
wouldn't they be popular? Well, I guess the singers voice wouldn't be
the same as Daniel's is, but that shouldn't make a difference. sorry
that this post is so short, but i have tons of geography homework to do
