Level 4 Limit Breaks
The Limit Breaks are very impressive special attacks that can be performed by each character when they're limit gauge fills up. There are three levels of Limit Breaks that can be acquired by killing enemies or using Limit techniques. However, the Level 4 Limit Breaks need to be found. These are extremely powerful and you will not regret searching for them. On this page is a list of where you can find each character's Level 4 Limit Break. Each Level 4 Limit is just like a normal item which can be found. Once your character reaches their ultimate Level 3 Limit Break, go to the item menu and chose the respective Limit Break, then use it on the character. For example, Cloud would be the Omnislash. So once you've acquired his Finishing Touch Limit (his final Level 3 Limit Break), then if you have Omnislash, go to the item menu, select Omnislash with the cursor, and use it on Cloud. Then go to the Limit menu and select Level 4. If you try to use a Level 4 Limit item on a character who it doesn't belong to (like giving Barret Omnislash) or trying to use it on your character before they've mastered their Level 3 Limits (using Omnislash on Cloud when he has only gotten Meteorain), then a small message will appear telling you, "I'm not ready" or "I've got the wrong person" or something of the like.
Cloud: Omnislash
Fight in the Gold Saucer's Battle Square until you get at least 32,000 BP. The points can then be exchanged at one of those machines by the exit of the Battle Square for the Omnislash Limit Break. To make things easier, you may want to have Cloud at Level 99 with his Finishing Touch Limit Break. Don't forget to equip the Ribbon accessory on Cloud as well as to bring along any powerful Materia you have. WARNING!! If you leave the Battle Square BEFORE exchanging your BP, YOU WILL LOSE ALL YOUR BP!!
Barret: Catastrophe
In Disc 2 or 3, after Meteor has been summoned, go to North Corel and enter the middle house on the west side of town. Talk to the lady who looks like she's wearing a green baseball cap and she'll talk a little about her dead husband before giving you Barret's Level 4 Limit Break.
Tifa: Final Heaven
In Disc 2 or 3, take Tifa to her house in Nibelheim and play the tune from Cloud's flashback. The tune is [X], [Square], [Triangle], R1/L1+[Triangle], R1/L1+[Square], [X], [Square], [Triangle], R1/L1+[X], [Circle], [X], [Square], [X]. When you finish playing the notes, press Start and Tifa will say she has sheet music for that song. Inside the sheet music, she finds a note from her teacher, Zangan, and her Final Heaven Limit Break.
Aeris: Great Gospel
In Disc 1, talk to the Sleeping Man near Junon when you've fought a number of battles where the last two digits are the same. He'll give you a piece of Mythril. Take it to the Weapon Seller across the river from the Gold Saucer. He'll let you open one of his two boxes. Open the small box on the second floor. It's on the wall, not on the ground. There, you'll find Aeris' Great Gospel Limit Break. Go here for more info on Aeris' Level 4 Limit Break.
Red XIII: Cosmo Memory
To get Red's Level 4 Limit, you must defeat the Lost Number boss in the Shin-Ra Mansion. This requires you to open the safe on the second floor of the house. Go to Secret Characters for the safe combo and Boss Strategies for how to defeat Lost Number.
Cid: Highwind
After getting the submarine, locate the crashed Gelnika off the coast of the Gold Saucer. In the cargo bay, you'll find Cid's Level 4 Limit Break among other useful items.
Yuffie: All Creation
To recieve All Creation, you must defeat Godo, Yuffie's father, at the top of the Pagoda of the Five Mighty Gods in Wutai. This will also get you the Leviathan Summon Materia.
Vincent: Chaos
After acquiring the submarine or a Green Chocobo, you can reach Lucrecia's Cave which is located behind a waterfall at a lagoon in the Nibel Area. Visit the cave with Vincent in your party in Disc 2 to learn more about his past, then return in Disc 3 with Vincent and you'll get his Chaos Limit Break as well as his ultimate weapon, the Death Penalty.
You'll notice that Cait Sith doesn't have a Level 4 Limit Break. His Limits only go up to Level 2, which can be gotten after killing 80 enemies.
