Ultimate Weapons
Just like everyone has a Level 4 Limit Break (except Cait Sith), everyone has an Ultimate Weapon (including Cait Sith). These weapons are very powerful and usually are loaded to the gills with Materia slots. The only problem is that they have NO Materia growth!! That's right. The big downside to them is that Materia can't grow in them, so it's best to use a different weapon if you're trying to master Materia. And believe me, when the time comes for the final battle, you're going to be thankful for the Master Materia, as you will be for the Ultimate Weapons and Level 4 Limit Breaks. Now, let's get started.
Cloud: Ultima Weapon
In Disc 3, you can chase down the Ultimate WEAPON. You first find it hovering over a lake near Junon. Fly into it with the Highwind to initiate combat, and after taking a few thousand points worth of damage, it'll fly off. You then must continue following it in the Highwind, and ram into it with the Highwind, which forces it to find a location sooner. Once you've destroyed the Ultimate WEAPON over Cosmo Canyon, you'll recieve Cloud's ultimate weapon, the Ultima Weapon.
Barret: Missing Score
You can find the Missing Score in Disc 2 on the steps that lead up to the Sister Ray just before the team encounters Hojo. NOTE: Barret MUST be in your party, otherwise, the Missing Score won't be there.
Tifa: Premium Heart
Go to Bone Village late in the game and tell the foreman you're looking for normal treasure. Place the workers around the top area, and they should point you to the Key to Sector 5. Now you can reenter Midgar. Revisit the Wall Market and go into the small store that says "Item." Inside is a little computer. Go up to it and it'll dispense Tifa's ultimate weapon, the Premium Heart.
Aeris: Princess Guard
In the clock room in the Temple of Ancients, go through room number IIII (which should be IV). At the end of the hallway, you'll find a treasure chest with Aeris' ultimate weapon, the Princess Guard. Unlike the other ultimate weapons, Princess Guard isn't maxed out with Materia slots and Materia can grow in it.
Red XIII: Limited Moon
In Disc 3, take Red XIII to Cosmo Canyon. It turns out Bugenhagen isn't feeling too good, so run up to see him. Red will then have a little scene alone as Bugenhagen dies before his eyes, but not before giving him his ultimate weapon, the Limited Moon.
Cid: Venus Gospel
After the rocket in Rocket Town has been launched, talk to the old man outside the item shop several times. Eventually, he'll give you Cid's ultimate weapon, the Venus Gospel. NOTE: If you talk to the old man several times in Disc 1, he'll give you the Yoshiyuki, a sword Cloud can use.
Yuffie: Conformer
When you have the submarine, locate the crashed Gelnika just off the coast of the Gold Saucer. Inside the generator room (the first door) is Yuffie's ultimate weapon, the Conformer.
Cait Sith: HP Shout
When you return to Midgar in Disc 2 via parachute, you can reenter the Shin-Ra Building. On the 64th Floor is a locker room. Search the lockers until you find the HP Shout.
Vincent: Death Penalty
After acquiring a submarine or a Green Chocobo, you can reach Lucrecia's Cave, located behind a waterfall in a lagoon in the Nibel Area. Take Vincent to the cave in Disc 2 to learn about his past. Then return in Disc 3, and you'll recieve his ultimate weapon, the Death Penalty, as well as his Chaos Limit Break.
