One Summer Chapter 11

Todd left to go tie up the loose ends with his job, his ex-job. I went into the office to beg for some time off. I made up some lame death in the family story and that I had to leave town for a couple of weeks. I finally got the okay and was off to pack.

Todd knocked on the door. I flung it open.

"You all set?" he asked.

"Ahh...yeah, just let me get my bags," I said as I walked toward the pile of luggage I had waiting by the stairway.

"How long you plan on being gone?" He asked when he saw all the bags I had packed.

"Well, a woman can never have too many clothes," I said with a little smile.

He walked in front of me and grabbed the bags. He took them out to the truck. I went through the house once last time, making sure everything was off. I looked over at the new mini mall next door, knowing that when I returned the work would be done. I felt bad for what I did to Ron.

Todd came back into the house. He walked up behind me as I looked out the window. He put his hands around my waist and leaned his head on mine.

"You ready?"

I took a deep breath and said, "Yes, I am ready. Let's get out of here."

We drove about nine hours, only stopping to get gas and eat. We talked the whole time. I was surprised at how much he had opened up to me. I got to know all about Todd's life. His childhood with Peter Manning up to his second wedding to Téa. Todd had made so many bad choices in his life. He truly seemed to want to put all that behind him now and start over. He just needed to see Rebecca one more time.

We decided to stop at a hotel for the night. Todd pulled into the parking lot and went in to the office to get us a room.

He came out a few minutes later waving a key in the air. He pulled around to where the room was and we got out. I sat on the bed as he brought in all the luggage. Thanks to me it took him two trips. He walked in on the last trip and shot me a look. I just shrugged my shoulders and smiled.

"Ok, I think that is the last of it," he said sitting the bags down. He walked around the room, looking in every drawer. "I guess this will do for one night," he said sitting at the table by the window.

"Yeah...I guess so." I said.

We sat in the room in silence for a few minutes. It was about 11:30pm. I could tell that Todd was tired, and so was I. We would be in Texas tomorrow. About another four hours drive.

"Well...I guess we should get to bed," I said getting up and walking toward one of my bags.

"Yeah, I am beat," he said looking at the bed.

I went into the bathroom and changed into my night clothes. I got the sense that he needed his rest tonight, so I would behave myself and leave him alone, if I could!

I came out of the bathroom and Todd was already in bed. He was half asleep when I climbed in. He rolled over on his side to face me.

"I just wanted to thank you again for coming with me," he said kissing me on the forehead.

"Todd, I would go anywhere with you. And help you anyway I can," I said looking into those beautiful eyes.

He draped his arm around me and in a minute, he was sleeping. I lay there watching him. My God, he looked so young and at peace at that moment. It almost brought a tear to my eye to think of the way his father treated him, his mother leaving when he was so young and his lack of trust towards women. He had missed out on so much. But at the same time he had hurt a lot of people. He needed to come to terms with that to be truly happy. I drifted off to sleep in his arms.

*************************************************

I awoke the next morning to a beam of light hitting me in the eyes. I sat up, not sure where I was for a minute. I looked over to where Todd was still asleep. I leaned over and kissed his cheek. He stirred a little. I took a strand of his hair and tickled his nose with it. I laughed to myself as he batted at himself. I did it some more, not knowing he was already awake. He rubbed his nose when the hair hit it. I saw him peeking with one eye. He couldn't help but laugh.

"Oh, you!" I said as I lightly hit him on the shoulder.

Todd sat up and lit a smoke. I lay there looking at him and playing with his hair. I just couldn't keep my hands off his hair.

"You nervous?" I asked him.

He paused and then said, "Yeah...yeah a little. It's been so long. I wonder if she will be happy to see me or if she will want to kill me."

"I am sure if she is as sweet as you say, she will be happy. Do you think you should try to call her first? Maybe a surprise visit will upset her."

"Nah...I don't want to give her time to leave or hide. I want it to be a surprise." He got out of bed and then said," Besides I am not sure if I will talk to her or not, I just have to see her."

I lay there and watched Todd get out of bed; his body was perfect. The light pouring in from the torn curtain hit his hair and it looked so silky. I wanted him right then. He threw on a pair of sweat pants.

"I'm going to take a shower," he said walking toward the bathroom.

I smiled at him as he shut the door. I sat up, looked around the room and wondered to myself how I got there. And how I got there with Todd! I heard the water turn on. The door opened, Todd walked out with a towel around his waist.

"You coming?" he asked with a smile.

He held his hand out for me to take it. I followed him into the bathroom and closed the door.

One Summer Chapter 12

The water felt great as it hit my back. I closed my eyes and leaned my head back so they stream of water hit my hair. As I raised my hands to my head, I felt his breath on me. With my eyes still closed, Todd began to kiss at my neck. I wrapped my arms around his shoulders. His lips moved down to my breasts. I had never felt like this before. How just his touch could send me over the edge with pleasure. We took turns washing each other's hair. I loved his hair and took great joy at washing it. It was so sensual to have a man wash my hair. He seemed to love it when I was washing his.

The water hitting my body made all my senses come alive. I opened my eyes, and there he stood, facing me. Our eyes were locked. I looked down at his body. He was ready for me. His penis was fully erect. Our eyes met again. Without a word spoken, Todd began to kiss me. The water was hitting both of us. As our kissing grew more intense, I could feel his penis moving closer to me.

I tried to shift my body to allow him access. With our height difference, it wasn't working. I lifted one leg to the side of the tub and one hand held onto the shower curtain rod. Todd slowly entered my body. He grabbed ahold of my ass to help support me and keep me at the right height. It was working for the moment. I held on to him with my free hand. Our bodies found each other's with slow, even thrusts. He picked up the pace and I followed his lead. Before too long we were going at it pretty good. I could tell he was about to cum . I had now learned his cues, his body language. He was on fire, his thrusts were getting faster and faster. It wouldn't be long now. His body tensed up and I knew the time was now. He made a couple of final thrusts, his breathing was heavy. Just then the shower rod gave out on him. We both went onto the floor.

"Ow, shit!" I said laughing, as I hit the floor.

"Are you okay?" Todd said letting out a little laugh.

"Yeah, I'm fine, you okay?" I asked.

We sat up. He leaned over and kissed me. He stood up and held out his hand to help me up. He was so relaxed with his naked body now. It made me feel great that he was so at ease with me. He helped me up and wrapped me in a towel before covering himself. We both faced the mirror. I wiped away the steam. I looked at out reflection. He put his hands on my shoulders, then slowly leaned down and kissed my neck. I put one hand on the back of his head.

We checked out the hotel and hit the road again. Todd was quiet this morning. I could tell how nervous he was. He lit up one cigarette after another. The miles came and went in silence.

Todd stopped at a little run down gas station. I went to freshen up. When I came out, Todd was leaning against the hood of the truck, looking at a map he had spread out. I walked up behind him and put my head on his shoulder.

"We lost?" I asked.

"No, why?" he said turning his head to look at me, then back to the map.

"Well, I didn’t think 'real' men used those things unless they were totally lost," I said with a little smile, teasing him.

Todd didn't respond; he just kept on looking at the map and then a piece of paper with Rebecca's Aunt and Uncle's name and address on it. This is what she had given him when she left Llanview those many years ago. I climbed back in the cab of the truck and saw one yellow rose on my seat. I picked it up, looked at Todd, who was watching me from the corner of his eye, and put it to my nose. I closed my eyes and took in the sweet smell. This man is unbelievable, I thought to myself.

Finally Todd climbed in the cab, looked at me and smiled. I leaned closer to him and kissed him on the cheek.

"Thank you for the rose, Todd. " Yellow roses are my favorite."

"I thought you might like it," he said looking into my eyes, then he kissed me softly. "We are about three hours away now."

He started the truck and I moved closer to him. I put my arm around him and he in turn, put his right hand on my thigh. I felt so secure with him; not once did he scare me. The only thing that scared me was losing him.

We drove along, listening to the radio. It was nice to see him open up and get into some of the songs. He moved his mouth to the music and tapped his hands on the steering wheel. I hadn't taken a road trip in so long. This brought back great memories of a time before work and failed relationships. Todd has such an childlike innocence sometimes. I found it endearing.

***************************************************************

The hot Texas sun beat down on us as we drove down the long, winding dirt road. Todd started slowing down. I knew we must be getting close. We came to a stop sign. He pulled out the address again and looked up at the street sign.

"This is it. Big Hollow Road. Okay we need to turn here and look for number 1278." he said.

He turned the corner, leaving a trail of dust behind us. I could tell he was growing more anxious with each house we passed. 1254...1264...1274. Then the small house was in sight. Todd stopped a house or two away from it. He cut the engine. I didn't speak. I knew what he was feeling was something too deep and personal for me to offer any advice. I sat there in silence, rubbing the back of his neck, showing my support.

He lit a cigarette, took a deep drag and ran his fingers through his hair.

He took a deep breath and said, "Here goes."

He leaned over and gave me a soft kiss on the lips and got out of the truck. I watched as he approached the small white house.
