This unit is designed to introduce students to the history of western expansion in the United States.  Specifically, students will learn about the expedition of Lewis & Clark.  They will learn about key members of the expedition team, some of the geographic and scientific discoveries made by the expedition, the historical context of the expedition and why it is an important part of United States history.  Through this unit, students will gain a better understanding of the history of this country.
