Greenville College Friends

The people above are Summer Slaymaker, Mike Dando, and Portia Kapraun. This picture was taken at my roommate for the summer, Akeya's, 22nd birthday party. Summer, one of the coolest people I know, lives down the hall from me, is the GC Choir president. Mike is our junior class senator and an actor in many of the Greenville plays. I have known Portia longer than most people here at Greenville. She lived on my floor freshman year and the rest is history! Below are more pictures of my friends here at Greenville.
Here's the birthday girl herself! This is Akeya Harper, the '99 Greenville Homecoming Queen, Super Senior, and actress extrordinare.
This is one of my best friends, Dave Wollen, in his normal state- crazy. But seriously, he's a really great guy.
This picture is from my freshman year at our floor's "Princess Ball". This is my good friend, Joanna Geary, who is now back in California.
This is my RA from last year, Ann Sauber. She now has the distinct title of '00 Greenville Homecoming Queen! Hooray for Ann! Ann and I have many funny stories from last year. Hopefully I'll get them on here sometime. Click her picture to go to a page with more pics of her.
I'm sure you're saying, "Where have I seen this picture before?" Don't worry, you're not going crazy. I'm going to tell you who these strange people are now! On the left is Greg Coates, sophomore class chaplain, and all around great guy. Next to Greg is Kathy Faulkner, who lived on my floor last year. She is in GC Choir and Chamber Singers and is a fabulous person! Next is some really strange person. Oh, wait-that's me, nevermind. Next to me is Dave, who you met before-only this time he's right-side up. He's my favorite person from Colorado.

Back To School Bash

Here's another picture from the Back To School Bash of '00. On the bottom are Aaron, Lonnie, Greg, Dave, and Jeremy. Next row up are Julie, Me, Stacey, and Kenny. Next are Kathy and Kristen and on top is Laura. There are a few other people of note though-Andy is giving us the thumbs up and my friend Brad can be seen through the pyramid with a very strange look on his face. Heehee!!

"Dave & Joe's Aloha Pussycats"

This is my team for the Relay For Life. From left to right: Dave Wollen, Erica Rice, Mary Beth Owsley, Courtney Kanyo, Joe Cunningham, Kathy Faulkner, Kristen Markell, Bekki Juenger, Me, and Judi Markell (Kristen's mom, who wasn't really on our team, but posed for the picture with us 'cause we love her!). We walked for 14 hours, from 6 pm to 8 am, to raise money for The American Cancer Society and we enjoyed every moment of it. Thanks to any of you that helped me raise money!
This is a picture from our choir retreat this past fall. In the picture, my friends, Lonnie, Nick, and Brad, were recruited by my other friend, Dave, to serenade me while he asked me to go to homecoming 'cause I didn't have a date. (I said yes, by the way.)

This is my friend Chris that used to go to the Kendall United Methodist Church Youth Group with me back when we both lived in Miami. His family moved to Wheaton, IL and he's now going to DePaul Univ. in Chicago. I was in Chicago on the Bible & Culture trip and got a chance to visit with him. We took this on the El on our way back from dinner at Friday's.
Here we have me and Nick on our TWIRP (The Woman Is Requested to Pay) date to the Spaghetti Factory. This is actually on the carriage ride that we took around old St. Louis after dinner.
For Thanksgiving this year, I went home with my best friend Stacey. I also got to meet the world's cutest baby-Olivia. Here are Stacey and Olivia at the piano at Stacey's house.
Here they are again. Olivia is the one on top. Heeheehee!!!
The Sunday after Thanksgiving was my 21st birthday. I got to celebrate it by being stick somewhere just inside the eastern border of Indiana in a Burger King. I sure look like I'm celebrating my 5th birthday and not my 21st!
A week and a half later I went out for a real birthday dinner with my friends Mark, Dawn, and Nikki. Mark was taking the picture, so you can only see Nikki, Dawn, and me.
Later that night I went to the Christmas Cafe in the Upper Union where Stacey and I had the chance to sit on Santa's lap. (Santa looked a LOT like Bekki though!)
That night of the Christmas Cafe an old friend was in town, so I didn't really go to bed until about 6:00 in the morning and I only slept for about an hour...

Madrigals

The next night was the madrigal dinner at Kathy's high school in Peoria. This is a picture of us when we got home from the dinner, 'cause we had no time to spare before it! From left to right: Lonnie, Dave, Joe, Kathy, Me, and Bekki.
Here's a pic of me and Bekki during interterm. Yes...my hair is darker-that's because I dyed it New Year's Eve weekend. Heehee!!
