Blessed Be! The Wicca way of life is spiritual and fulfilling. It is not about cursing others, selfish desires, "evil satanic" ways, or hurting any of nature's creatures. Many people try to justify a non-Christian religion by basing it upon the evil side of Christianity, this practice is closed minded and entirely prevelant in the Christian church, especially Catholicism. Unfortunately, Wicca carries this negative stereotype. However, the truth about Wicca is far from what the Christian Coalition wants you to believe. Wiccans follow one rule: Do what thy will, and it hurt none. This means that one has the freedom to do whatever s/he feels is right as long as it does not intentionally harm oneself, others and nature's precious creations. Wiccans believe in and honor two dieties: the Goddess and the God. Neither are "evil" or "demons", they are both in harmony. The Goddess is the ever present diety, sometimes easier to visualize when called Mother Nature. The God is a constantly changing force who is born, lives, dies and is reborn. It is the circle of all life, as the seed becomes a florishing tree that eventually dies but leaves seeds behind to grow again. Scott Cunningham wrote of 13 goals of a Wiccan and I think they are right on the mark. 1.Know Yourself 2. Know Wicca 3. Learn 4. Apply Knowledge with Wisdom 5. Achieve Balance 6. Keep Your Words in Good Order 7. Keep Your Thoughts in Good Order 8. Celebrate Life 9. Attune with the Cycles of the Earth 10. Breathe and Eat Correctly 11. Exercise the Body 12. Meditate 13. Honor the Goddess and God
