My mother (Carmen) is having panic attacks, and on the 14 was exposed to toxic fumes at work and now is having problems with disorintation(sp), heartpain, constant headache, diarrehea, vomiting. She was seen by an Occupational Medical Dr and while we were there he took and EKG and sent her to the nearest emergency room because she showed an anormality in her heart. Then, the ER staff couldn't find anything. 3. My 2 youngest sons (John & Abraham) have asthma, My 6 yr old has been in the hospital 2 times this year. Once for RSV & Asthma, the 2nd time for Pnemonia & Asthma. My 5 year presently has Pnemonia. 4. My husband (John) is barely supportive and we have been quarreling alot lately. 5. My mother-in-law (Linda) had a hernia operation a month 1/2 ago and is presently sick with broncitis(sp). 6. I have a 15 year old daughter (Chrystal) who says that "Iam to controlling" (enought said about that). 7. My sister (Carol) has problems with her liver. She had two tumors (non malignant) removed and has bowel problems. 9. We are all having financial problems. I am running around like a chicken without a head. He started out with fever and what was thought to be Scarletena. This was last Tuesday. Then his skin started to come off in chunks and they put him in the hospital here with IV's but he just got worse and was in so much pain even Morphine didn't help. He got worse and by Friday the life flighted him to SLC. He was critical when he got there and the rushed him in to surgery and removed all his skin. First diagnosis was Scaleded Skin Syndrome. Did a deeper skin biopsy and reports came back it is TEN's . Explanation. We have 2 layers of skin and that what they took off then a layer of epidermal and then 3 more layers and the flesh. The TEN's is in the second batch of skin before the flesh. They have been doing radical antibiotic treatments since Sat. and think (and hope) it has stopped in that layer of skin and not gone into his soft tissue and organs. We saw him yesterday and he is about 3 times the size of what he was. Has no hair and his head is about the size of a pumpkin. We have to keep everything up beat when talking to him so when I went in I said Hi Gaigerman it's Nanny and he opened an eye (which he hasn't been doing and Ron was very excited) and raised an arm like he wanted me to hug him. But of course I couldn't touch him (heartbreak). He is covered with Bio Brain skin and it is stapled to his torso and wrapped in plastic. Has no hair. We know he is fighting to stay alive and get well. He is on complete life support and will have to be in the ICU for a month or more and then a long recovery time. He is in critical condition but stable. They thought they saw some new skin forming in his groin area and were encouraged. He has an MBA and was a Manager of Contracts for a company that designed and manufactured aircraft components - he worked on the contract for the German airbus. He is considered to be overqualified for "lesser" jobs by some and, although many deny the existence of age discrimination, and too old by others. I had a doctor's appointment yesterday and my health is none too good. Please, dear ones, please, keep us in your prayers and ask others to pray for us, too. We would like nothing more than to settle in one place and live out our lives in peace. We have little family left and we are too new to Tennessee to have made any close friends as yet. Her husband goes to the Evangelistic Church and she to the Catholic Church. Linda teachs fourth grade in the Catholic School. Recently her youngest daughter joined the other church for social reasons. Her oldest one is involved for social reasons also and has had the opportunity to go out to all social events since she was twelve because of her father. Natasha, herself, admitted to my sister that sometimes the social events in this Church include kids doing drugs. Lee will not allow Linda any say so in raising the kids anymore and allows them to go out all the time. Sunday night, Linda was at Adoration and she came home to a note on her pillow saying that her husband was gone and divorsing her and taking the kids and the dog. Her husband allows her 12 and 16 year old children to run wild. There is no discipline!!!! He wants the girls to be popular and have fun. He does not follow any religion but only goes to Church on Sundays. He calls the Catholic Faith a cult. They went to counseling and the Counselor told them there was nothing he could do for them since the only thing Lee hated about his wife was her faith in the Catholic Church, the CULT. He hates her whole family because we are Catholics and in this cult. When he married her, he changed to the Cult Faith too and agreed to raise their children in this cult, the Catholic Faith. He is a work alohlic, smokes pot, and has physically hit LInda on one occasion. He is also a diabetic. Linda does not want a divorse. She does love him and she wants her family together. The kids were in on the note. They knew everything when Linda told them. They also told her that he was buying a new house for them. Linda is a wonderful mother and a very strong Christian but this is such a hard cross for her. She feels betrayed by her whole family. She feels she is not worthy...if she gets divorsed..to teach anymore in the Catholic School. She is this magnificent teacher. The kids come out as such strong soldiers for Christ. Some are going to be Priests, little girls are wanting to become nuns. One child's mother died from cancer, this 10 year old child was happy on her mother's funeral day because she was sure her mother was in Heaven. This child was everyone else's pillar of strength on that day. Linda teaches all subjects and relates everything to the Lord. Religion Class is also taught each day. She loves teaching religion. She said the only subjects just seem so unimportant somehow but teaches them avidly too. She teaches the Living Christ in the Eucharist and that is not done very much anymore either. She teaches Purgatory!!!! She teaches the Marion sites, Fatima, Medjorgorie, etc., the saints, serving others, the Beautitudes... Please pray for her. Husband brings up the heart medicine that months ago I looked up side effects of and cardiolgist won't even look at what was faxed him and this Doctor just shrugged and said you need the heart medicine My husband has almost all the side effects listed under rare side effects. I believe too many to be coincidence. And not one of 3 Doctors will even consider the possibility Doctor said do you have any fluid retention? Geesh whole body and the huge amount of lasix has not taken it down any. He was like this before they put him on predisone This Doctor doesn't get involved in paperwork to get handicapped parking sticker. No suggestion of braces or devices or heat or anything. In the meantime now thousands are owned to doctors Husband has 3 conventions to cover next month. When my husband asked his Boss about renting a motorized scooter to get around he was told if you can't do it we will get someone else. I don't see how he is going to be able to do it. Also please pray that he will start eating things that aren't bad for him. He says he will eat anything I fix. When I tried to give him salad, he doesn't want it. He is eating artery clogging food. Requested by:JoAnn McCoy Prayer Request for Child in Amarillo, TX Last Friday about 12:30 P.M. my three year old granddaughter,Lauren Renee Pingel and her babysitter were on their way to do some shopping in a Ford Taurus. At an intersection North of Amarillo, around the River Road area a large pickup with a Rhino Guard Bumper failed to yield right of way and ran a stop sign. The pickup hit the car. Lauren was buckled in her car seat in the middle of the back seat. The pickup hit the side of the car about the middle. We are not sure what caused the terrible injury to Lauren. She had no broken bones or other injuries but severe head injuries. We have been told it was the Rhino Guard Bumper that hit her. She weighs about 25 lbs. She was rushed to Northwest Texas Hospital where they put the pieces of her little skull back together with metal pins and all the pieces were there. Some broken glass was also removed. A few hours later as her brain began to swell the doctors told son & daughter in law that if they did not perform a craniotomy she would die, and if they did perform it she still might die or surely not fully recover. She was rushed into surgery again, and it was performed. She has improved some but very slowly. The first 72 hours were very difficult with several trips for CAT scans in hopes of seeing how the brain was reacting. We have now stopped worrying about the brain so much and are concentrating on the other vital organs. Her heart beat is strong. Her lungs are filled with fluid and they have diagnosed her with Adult Respiratory Distress Syndrome. Some of the tissue in her lungs has hardened. They are doing respiratory work every 2 hours. Her kidneys were not functioning properly but have mproved. Her little face is swollen as tight as it can swell with both eyes swollen shut,it is also starting to bruise. It is so hard to see her lying there with all of the tubes. We have some great doctors and they have all been really good to talk to us and try to be compassionate. Her main doctor said today that we are maybe halfway through the worst part. (I can't imagine what will happen next.) BUT....he also said today that we were not taking inches anymore but maybe steps now. We think she can hear us when we talk to her. I read her a book tonight and her blood pressure dropped 2 points(a good thing). I am taking a couple of her favorite books tomorrow to read to her. Please pray for Lauren and her doctors that she will have the strength to endure the treatment and her body will accept the medicines that they prescribe. Michael Novenche is a 2 year-old beautiful little boy in Clifton Park, New York, and the grandson of a very dear friend of mine. A few months ago, he started throwing up and telling Mommy "boo boo in my head." He was brought to the doctors and tests were ran on him, later that week he started losing feeling in the left side of his poor little body. They found a large tumor in his brain. He was brought to a hospital in Boston where doctors told his family the tumor was too big and it was too risky to operate on it. His aunts and uncle would not give up, they called Beth Israel, then E-mailed Dr. Epstein for him to look a Michael's films. Michael's uncle then drove the films to New York City himself for Dr. Epstein to look at. Dr. Epstein operated but couldn't remove the entire tumor and now he has to go through chemo to keep the tumor from growing and hitting the brain stem. He need all the prayers we can get for the chemo to kill the tumor entirely. As I write this, he started chemotherapy and we are hoping desperately that it works. We need all the prayers we can get. Requested by:LYNN I went last Tuesday to Laredo (a two hour drive) for a routine physical. The doctor put me in the hospital and after having catscans and mri nuclear exams and exrays, I have been diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver. Discharge was at l:00 p.m. today (Saturday). On a scale of 5, the doctor said the liver stands at 4. That means it is nearly non-functioning. There is no treatment for the liver. The only possible solution is a two year wait for a liver transplant. The last priest the doctor gave a $200,000 liver transplant to, his body rejected it. The priest's doctor (my doctor) ordered another liver, and after a two year wait, began the operation, and the priest died during the operation. He is not doing very well. I received the following update from my brother today: Uncle Ed is still in intensive care and is heavily sedated.He is getting oxygen through a tube and has only been getting intaveneous feeding. He as not been awake since the surgery. I was there today. The Doctor says that his lungs are very bad and it is still to early to know if he will make it.
