Chapter 4 : The Water Runs Dry

The next day when the girls were walking to the temple they took the same route Rei did the night before “What’s that up ahead?” questioned Serena. They jogged up to it. The three dropped to their knees when they noticed it was their friend, Sailor Mars. “OH MY GAWD!” Lita and Serena screamed. Ami checked for any signs of life, but Rei was gone. The girls cried softly remembering their friend. “We should have stayed together! I mean... we knew those sisters were somewhere.” Ami said shakily. “Should we go to the police or tell her grandfather first?” asked Serena. “We’ll tell her grandfather first. he’s probably worried. Then we’ll go to the police. And since those weirdos are somewhere... we stick together.” Lita said. “ok” Serena and Ami agreed. Lita removed her jacket an placed it over their deceased friend. The three stood quietly praying for a moment and then left for the temple with heavy hearts. Meanwhile up in Ruby and Crystal’s ship, they watched Ami, Lita, and Serena through the staff. “You know, I kind of feel sorry for them.” Crystal said. “”No you don’t!” Ruby replied. “I know!” Crystal answered back and the two sisters giggled evilly. “”Black Moon Staff! Who’s next!?” Ruby demanded. Inside the blur two pictures appeared. One of Sailor Mercury and the other of Ami. “You know what we gotta do now.” Crystal announced. “Let’s get her!” Ruby exclaimed as the two disappeared from the ship. The scouts were walking down the street hanging there heads when they all bumped into two people. The three looked up “we’re sor... oh my god no!” Ami yelped. The sisters laughed at Ami’s reaction. “Hello.” Ruby said. “So... where’s your other friend?” Crystal asked trying to hold back her giggles. “You killed her!” screamed Serena as she held up her locket brooch. “TRANSFORM!” she yelled to the others. “right!” they replied and held up their power sticks. “Moon Prism POWER!” “Mercury Star POWER!” “Jupiter Star POWER!” Each one said their line and they morphed into sailor soldiers. The sisters watched them as they to stood ready for battle. Jupiter attacked first, “Jupiter Thunderclap ZAP!” Ruby and Crystal floated upward to avoid the lightening disc. “Dark Moon SPIRAL!” called out Ruby as she held up her staff and smoke billowed out of it towards the scouts. When the dark cloud cleared only Jupiter and Moon were left unconscious. Mercury looked at the sisters “Why did you leave me? Am I next?!” she screamed. “Good guess!” Crystal laughed. Mercury’s face turned to pure anger as she tried to attack “Shine Aqua Illusion!” But something was horribly wrong, the attack didn’t work at all. “Wha... What is going on?” she asked herself. But she tried again. “Mercury Bubbles BLAST!” she yelled. Again... it didn’t work either. Mercury looked at the sisters desperately. “Now we have you, innocent and weak little, Sailor Mercury.” They said. “What did you do to me?! Where are my powers?!” Mercury demanded. “Oh... we stole them.” Ruby explained as Crystal laughed and then called out “Mercury Bubbles BLAST!” The bubbles fogged in around Mercury. “Oh please! No! I can’t see anything!” she cried. Just then, two figures flew into the misty cloud, travelling quickly towards Mercury, head on. It was the sisters, they each grabbed one of Mercury’s arms and flew upwards back to the ship. Once they all were back aboard, Mercury wouldn’t stop trying to get away. The sisters had enough of running around trying to catch her and they stopped. “AMI! I’ve had about enough of this!” Crystal screeched. Mercury stopped in her tracks. “How did you know my name?” she asked. “SHUT UP!” yelled Ruby as she kicked Mercury hard to the ground. “Now Crystal!” Ruby demanded to her sister. Crystal pulled an arrow from the quiver on her back and put the arrow in her decrative silver bow. She then aimed it at the helpless scout’s heart. “Red Water of ETERNITY!” cried out Crystal as she let the arrow fly. Mercury looked up with tears and watched the arrow shoot into her own chest. Mercury screamed out in deep pain and placed her hands on the arrow. The arrow then melted into blood red water that quickly soaked into her body. She tried to move but couldn’t. “What’s going on!? I can’t move!” she yelped out. The sisters giggled evilly as they walked up to the frozen Mercury. They held up the Black Moon Staff above Mercury’s head. The scout’s eyes filled with tears knowing that her end was near. The aura encircled the three stealing the soldier of Mercury’s energy. When the aura faded away... the young girl’s weakened body collapsed to the floor. “Well, Crystal, I believe it’s your turn to finish this one.” said Ruby. Crystal smiled and nodded her head. Crystal reached to her side and unsheathed a shimmering blade. She then started spinning it around in front of her. After a few seconds black smoke started slowly flowing from the blade. The smoke then turned into thousands of little sharp razors. “Black Blade of Death!” Crystal called out. She pointed the blade towards Sailor Mercury. “NOW!” she finished and right after she said that the razors flew out at Mercury and the tiny blades cut right through her. Mercury looked up at the sisters and choked out the word “why?” as blood trickled out of her many wounds. “Because it is our mission.” Ruby said quietly. “What do we do with her now?” asked Crystal. “Well... she wanted to find her friend.... so I say... we make her the second Astro Sailor.” Ruby told her giggling. The sisters opened a space hatch and tossed the limp bloody body out of it. “bye bye.” they said and waved as they closed the hatch.
