This is the first part in the Cheerleading mini-series, which sounds pretty
shallow, but it's all in good fun! It starts with Jessica and the gang
celebrating a winning Football match; the cheerleaders - namely Jessica - get
the credit. Then a drop-dead gorgeous blond walks in, rendering all the guys
unconscious - and drooling - while she orders a diet soda. Jessica is upset that
the attention isn't on her for a change, but as soon as the girl leaves,
everyone turns back to her.Later, Ken and Jessica hook up at a party, and kiss on the beach, which Bruce shows off his new car - and you guessed it, the headlights flash on them, and a new SVH couple is revealed. But one person isn't happy - Elizabeth. She is jealous b/c she still remembers her fling with Ken, which was left unresolved.
The next day, at school, a new girl is attracting a lot of attention; unfortunately, it's that blond from the Dairi Burger. Jessica is mad when she takes away her attention, and becomes best friends with the A group. Then she decides she wants to be a cheerleader, and is actually pretty damn good as well, in fact, she lead her old team to nationals. Jessica gives her various tests to try and break her down, but she passes them all, and ends up being the newest member of the squad.
Both Jessica and Elizabeth are jealous of Heather (the blond), and it's for the same reason - she keeps flirting with Ken. Ken is not interested in Heather, but that doesn't help Jessica at all - Heather is trying her hardest, and even though it's not working, it's really pissing Jess off. Then we find out Robin, the co-head cheerleader, is leaving school, and the rest of the team want's Heather as the replacement - Jess is against it, but loses out against the majority.
Meanwhile, Elizabeth is obsessing over Ken; and Jessica gets suspicious when she see's pictures of them kissing. She tells herself to check in Liz's room for evidence later. Later, at a game, Heather starts to take over, and starts a complicated cheer, that Jessica wasn't taught. Angry, Jessica quits the squad (hence the title) When she gets home, she goes up to Liz's room, and reads her diary for details about Ken. But she finds a lot more than she bargained for - she finds out Liz and Ken had an affair. TO BE CONTINUED . . . ~Mel~
