A gorgeous video, this is about as close as you are going to get to a pro-shot from a non-pro.
The colors are beautiful and it's widescreen. The sound and video are a fraction out of sync for part
of the show unfortunately but I can live with that. A bit of wandering camera once in a while but the
taper follows the show pretty well. My only minor complaint would be the lack of zooms at key times
Wandering Child is pretty much a full-stage shot. Thomas...what can I say, his acting is impressive
and his voice is pretty good as well. He's one of those who are better seen rather than just heard,
I think. Anne is okay but didn't really stand out to me. Nikolaj...excuse me a second, I think I need
my smelling salts. He's one of the sweetest Raouls ever and has a wonderful voice - perfect in the
role of a young viscount.

Shot from obstructed view seats, so
the far left quarter of the stage cannot be seen,
this includes: Christine handing back the mask at the
end of "Stranger" and the kiss
(focused on Raoul's reaction instead).
Otherwise, a gorgeous
video and a gorgeous cast, Earl is an incredible actor
and Rachel's voice is one of my favorites.
Includes a rather amusing flub, where Earl cannot get the robe on in time
and so performs "Stranger" in his shirtsleeves and a crooked collar.

The audio is very good quality (considering the age of this recording). This is a great performance,
however the picture is dark in places and there are not many close close-ups. There are a few jumps
and some entire scenes cut out such as Magical Lasso. There is a jump from end of Prima Donna
to Il Muto and also from The Phantom's exit in Masquerade to the 2nd Notes scene.
The "Before the Premiere" scene is also cut, when it jumps from the end of the Graveyard scene
to Don Juan. There is also a minute or two jump between the Labyrinth scene to Beyond the Lake.
This tape is about 85% complete. One of the only videos with the original cast. Audience applaud
in very unusual places so it must have been when Phantom Mania was still raging on Broadway.
Includes the curtain calls and a musical slideshow as an added bonus.

multicamera shoot with shots flawlessly edited together, making for almost no blackouts and
a ton of closeups. Almost no obstructions and very nice audio as well. This is a fantastic video!
I don't know who the master is of this video, but they have done a brilliant job,
Highly recommended!

A parody/homage to Gilbert and Sullivan's Pirates of Penzance, The Pirate Movie is a comedy/musical
utilizing both new songs and parodies from the original, as well as references to popular films of the time,
including Star Wars and Raiders of the Lost Ark. In your typical boy meets girl, boy loses girl, boy fights
girl with swords plot, the story revolves around Mabel, the youngest of Maj. Gen. Stanley's many daughters,
and Frederic, an ex-Pirate of Penzance. They fall in love and proceed to retrieve the Stanley's fortune from
the Pirates (stolen 20 years ago). The Pirate King informs Frederic that due to him being born on Feb. 29th
(during a leap year), Frederic is still technically the King's apprentice. Frederic must then decide between
duty and honor, the only good qualities the King taught him, and true love.
