II: God's America > This World, Jambalaya, Time to Love, Twenty Years, Here I Come > All Night With Fullerton, Purple Rain, Get on Top

E: Royalty > Sory Bones, My Name is Ferdi
(It was a long time between this show and the last, and it showed in our performance. The show wasn't bad, but it lacked the energy. We were rusty, the crowd took more of an interest in socializing, and something was missing. We had planned on debuting our second rock opera, but we srapped the entire thing. A few songs were debuted, most of which ended up on Hubris. The second set had a bit more sparkle than the first set, which is always fine with me. There's really nothing more to share about this show.)

8/4/01 Little Italian, Buffalo Grove, IL
I: Get On Top, Sing It On The D, Predictable Penis > Role Model, My Name Is Ferdi, Royalty -> God's America > Royalty, All Night With Fullerton, Purple Rain, Safety Dance, Twenty Years, Here I Come > It Should Have Been Obvious

II: Bennie and The Jets, Time To Love, Kathy II -> God's America > Kathy II, Jambalaya > Ultra Funk, See You In Ohio, Backpedal, Smooth Criminal, The Monroe Transfer, Sory Bones, Song For Kathy -> God's America > Song For Kathy

E: This World -> I'm A Man > This World
(Third show at Little Italian. This is probably our best show up to this point. The first set was solid, but the second set was it. As Miles Davis would say, it was a motherfucker. There was just a lot of energy between us and the crowd. No complaints here.)

7/27/01 Private Party, Evanston, IL
Ultra Funk > All Night With Fullerton, Backpedal, Safety Dance, Role Model, Sing It On The D, Never Again, Jambalaya, This World, Time To Love, Sory Bones, Bennie and The Jets, Get On Top, Twenty Years, It Should Have Been Obvious

E: My Name Is Ferdi, Purple Rain, Kathy II: The Awakening, Don't Get 2 Close (2 My Fantasy), Smooth Criminal
(This party took place at a friend's house. The room we played could only fit us and our equipment. It was fun nonetheless. We played a solid set from what I remember.)

7/4/01 The Linconshire 4th of July Parade, Lincolnshire, IL
Backpedal > All Night With Fullerton, It Should Have Been Obvious, God's America, My Name is Ferdi, This World, Jam, Jambalaya, Fuse Box, Twenty Years, Predictable Penis, Ultra Funk, God's America, Let's Go Crazy, God's America, Backpedal > All Night With Fullerton
(Nasty show on a flatbed. This day was very warm, even though we played in the morning. Things were a bit hectic setting up, but all was well was showtime came. A very fun show, mostly because it was The Nasty on wheels. No setlist was used from what I remember. It was just so weird playing for the swells right in front of their homes. Oh so strange. Phrase of the show: "Bodacious ta-ta's." Courtesy of our classy driver. Thanks man. Song Debuts: God's America, Fuse Box.)

6/11/01 Back 2 The Office, Hoffman Estates, IL
Get On Top, Kathy II: The Awakening, Predictable Penis > Six Strings of Glory (My Name is Ferdi > Let's Fight > Here I Come > Smacky McGee > I'm High > Rock n Roll Song > Ferdi Reprise), Time To Love, Backpedal > It Should Have Been Obvious, Sory Bones, Twenty Years, I'm a Man, See You In Ohio, Royalty, This World

E: Smooth Criminal, Purple Rain
(This show almost never happened. Good thing Matt and I found this place week before. Solid show from what I remember. The second performance of Six Strings of Glory was sweet, and the This World dance-line was a sight to see.)

6/9/01 Buffalo Grove High School, Buffalo Grove, IL
Ultra Funk > All Night With Fullerton, Sing It On The D, Sory Bones, Time To Love, Twenty Years, Jambalaya, Backpedal, This World, Smooth Criminal, Safety Dance, It Should Have Been Obvious
(This set was for a cancer walk. It was cool even though 7 out of the 700 people in attendance were listening to us. Nevertheless, these seven heard a rocking set augmented by sounds of DJ Scottie Hicks.)

6/1/01 The Stevenson Sportscenter, Lincolnshire, IL
It Should Have Been Obvious, Twenty Years, Smooth Criminal, Role Model, Jambalaya, Backpedal > Song For Kathy -> Freebird
(Here we go again. What started as a real slow set became our most intense performance to date. Things picked up at Smooth Criminal and kept picking up. The Freebird jam was spontaneous which it made it that much better. I think we played 10-15 minutes over our slotted time, but even then the lighting guy turned the lights on us again for our last bow at Stevenson.)

5/29/01 The Stevenson Auditorium, Lincolnshire, IL
My Name Is Ferdi, Twenty Years, Role Model, Time To Love, Ultra Funk, All Night With Fullerton, See You In Ohio, This World, Purple Rain, Don't Get 2 Close (2 My Fantasy), The Monroe Transfer, Safety Dance, Smooth Criminal, Sing It On The D, It Should Have Been Obvious

E: Backpedal
(A good solid show. We debuted a handful of rockers and they rocked. We had the lights and the big stage thing going, so this was good times. Song debuts: Twenty Years, It Should Have Been Obvious, See You In Ohio)

5/12/01 Camp Wilke, Long Grove, IL
Backpedal > All Night With Fullerton, Predictable Penis, Let's Work, Sory Bones, This World
(This was for Matt's birthday. It was an impromptu set that was...nice. The video of the show shall be buried forever. Song debut: Let's Work)

4/21/01 The Stevenson Performing Arts Center, Lincolnshire, IL
Safety Dance
(We went on stage, kicked some ass, and it was all over in three minutes. They should have let us play an entire set.)

3/17/01 The JCC, Buffalo Grove, IL
Backpedal, All Night With Fullerton, Predictable Penis > Time To Love, Safety Dance, Sing It On The D, This World
(Battle at the J. The crowd was "polite." I thought it was the tightest we've played, and we kicked some ass as well. It went by too fast. Anyways, let's just say I regret thanking the center in our album.)

3/3/01 Fritzl's, Lake Zurich, IL
Ultra Funk, Happy, Backpedal, Jambalaya, Safety Dance, Sory Bones, Song For Kathy, Role Model, Up On Cripple Creek, We Won't Get Fooled Again
(This was an acoustic set for my Dad's surprise birthday party. It was different because the audience mainly consisted of his friends, but it was still fun. He sang lead on "Up On Cripple Creek"-which was the highlight of the set-and "We Won't Get Fooled Again." Playing our songs acoustically was fun and we'll most likely do it again sometime. A pleasant evening indeed. Song debuts: Up On Cripple Creek, We Won't Get Fooled Again)

2/10/01 Little Italian Pizza, Buffalo Grove, IL
I: Sing It On The D, The String Changing Jam, Kathy II: The Awakening, Sory Bones, Time To Love, The Monroe Transfer > I'm a Man, Backpedal, Royalty, Safety Dance, The Story, Get On Top

II: Ultra Funk, This World, Purple Rain > The String Changing Song, My Name is Ferdi > Let's Fight, All Night With Fullerton, Predictable Penis, Smooth Criminal, Jambalaya, Role Model, Ferdi Reprise

E: Song For Kathy
(Second show at Little Italian. The owner is an asshole and would not let us set up at a decent time. This resulted in panic from The Nasty Crew, including myself, and we didn't start until almost 10. We were sloppy at times, Matt broke strings from both guitars, and we didn't musicially prepare enough for the show. On the upside the camera work by Brian added a whole lot, some songs were as intense as they ever were, and our new PA sounded pretty good (it would have been better if we had sufficient time for a soundcheck). The musical centerpiece of the evening was "This World" -intense. Song Debuts: Time To Love, Safety Dance, Get On Top, Jambalaya.)

12/9/00 Little Italian Pizza, Buffalo Grove, IL
I: Royalty, Backpedal > All Night With Fullerton, Song for Kathy, Smooth Criminal, Kathy II: The Awakening, Don't Get 2 Close (2 My Fantasy), Predictable Penis > Role Model, This World

II: The Story, Six Strings of Glory (My Name is Ferdi > Let's Fight > Here I Come > Smacky McGee > I'm High > Rock n Roll Song > Ferdi Reprise), Jenny-Pie, The Monroe Transfer, Sory Bones, Ultra Funk, Sing It On the D, Purple Rain

E: I'm a Man
(Our longest show to date. We basically played the best songs in our catalog. Overall I thought we played real well. Six Strings was nice and "anti-climatic." The impromptu "I'm a Man" was fun, probably because it's about myself. This show is my favorite to date. Song debuts: Six Strings of Glory, Jenny Pie, I'm a Man)

10/7/00 The JCC, Buffalo Grove, IL
Role Model, Sory Bones, Backpedal, Sing It On the D, The Monroe Transfer, Song for Kathy -> Freebird
(Our third battle at the JCC and we won, woopidee doo. Yet again, no competition. We played real well. I messed up Sory Bones badly, but it was probably our best show yet. And we finally nailed "The Monroe Transfer!" Song debut: Backpedal.)

8/25/00 The Knights of Columbus Hall, Arlington Heights, IL
All Night With Fullerton > Ultra Funk, Sory Bones, Predictable Penis > Role Model, Sing It On the D
(Had mixed feelings towards this show. It mainly had to do with stuff off the stage. The show was just poorly organized. We played ok, not too much energy though. No one recorded it so I can't really analyze our performance. My old punk band, El Beef, played a real short set while we were waiting for my lost bandmates. Fun stuff. Song debuts: Granddaddy Groove, Predictable Penis)

6/10/00 "Tom's Party II," Deerfield, IL
Ultra Funk, Royalty, Sing It On the D, This World, Happy, Role Model, Fruitsalad > Friend of Ed, Sory Bones, Don't Get 2 Close (2 My Fantasy), Song for Kathy, Smooth Criminal
(Fun show. We didn't have a setlist, so the show felt more spontaneous, in a good way. The set lasted about an hour until it started raining at the end of "Smooth Criminal." Song debuts: Royalty, Smooth Criminal)

6/7/00 "WilkeFest," Camp Wilke, Long Grove, IL
The Story, What's Your Sign Girl?, This World, Kathy II: The Awakening, Happy, Quaker Talk, Let's Go Crazy -> Purple Rain, Sory Bones, Kingdom, Blues Jam, Ultra Funk
(One word: sucky. Our worst show since we played Par-King in August of 1999. Anyone who was there knows why this show was lame.)

6/2/00 Stevenson High, Lincolnshire, IL
Role Model, Don't Get 2 Close (2 My Fantasy), Sing It On the D, Song for Kathy > Kathy II: The Awakening, The Story
(Now that's more like it. This was the Stevenson Battle of The Bands and we played better than ever. First place. The D included another sweet sweet dance section and the kids ate it up. It was just our night.)

5/13/00 The JCC, Buffalo Grove, IL
Juice of My Love > Ultra Funk, Role Model, Sory Bones, The Monroe Transfer, This World, Purple Rain
(The second Battle of the Bands at the JCC and we ended up in second place. Our performance was lame as hell. Too much confidence from our March show brought us down. Though the impromptu Purple Rain was the best way we've ever ended a show. Song debuts: Juice of My Love, Ultra Funk, Role Model)

3/4/00 The JCC, Buffalo Grove, IL
The Story, This World > Happy, Kathy II: The Awakening, Sing It On the D > Sory Bones
(Our first Battle of the Bands. We won of course, but there wasn't much competition. This was our best show at the time. The D contained a dance section which was nice and cheesy. The show closed with the debut performance of "Sory Bones." It left the audience in awe. Nuff said. Song debut: Sory Bones)

1/29/00 The JCC, Buffalo Grove, IL
Kathy II: The Awakening, Kingdom, Quaker Talk -> Fruitsalad > Friend of Ed, Don't Get 2 Close (2 My Fantasy), Sing It On the D, Don't Miss the Moment, The Story, Song for Kathy, This World
(By far our best show up to that point. It was the first show with the Bass Horse. During Sing It On The D Matt danced, I ripped off my shirt, and Pat threw a banana, which came from his pants, into the crowd. Very fun show.Song debuts: Don't Get 2 Close (2 My Fantasy), Sing It On The D, Don't Miss The Moment)

12/31/99 "Y2NASTY" Live @ Camp Wilke, Long Grove, IL
Happy, Kingdom, TDA, The Story -> Auld Lang Syne, Let's Go Crazy, This World, Kathy II: The Awakening, Purple Rain, Song for Kathy
(The 50% Stallion opened. They kicked some ass. There were a few distractions during our set, but we played ok. It was the first time we played Kathy II. We probably could have played a much longer set. Song debuts: Auld Lang Syne, Kathy II)

12/27/99 "MangoFest" Live @ Mayor McMango's, Buffalo Grove, IL
Quaker Talk -> Kingdom > Quaker Talk, The Story, Pat's Song > Big Night Out, Happy, The Monroe Transfer, Let's Go Crazy -> Purple Rain, Fruitsalad > Friend of Ed, This World, TDA, What's Your Sign Girl?, Song for Kathy
(A benefit show to plant mango trees. No joke. Fairly good show. The highlight of the show was when Matt and I left Pat on stage to do a short solo after "Let's Go Crazy." That short solo turned out to be about 12 minutes because Matt was trying to change a string. Pat wasn't too happy about that. Mayor McMango ended up $10 in the hole because, according to him, "Your fat-ass roadie ate all the pizza!!!" Funny stuff. Song debuts: Kingdom, Big Night Out)

11/26/99 Holy Family Church, Inverness, IL
The Story, TDA, Song For Kathy, Boyfriend/Manfriend Chant, This World, Happy, Quaker Talk -> Boyfriend/Manfriend Blues > Quaker Talk, Fruitsalad > Friend of Ed, The Monroe Transfer, Purple Rain
(We arrived at this church expecting to play indoors considering it was two days after Thanksgiving in northern Illinois. We were wrong. There was a small home up a little hill where a soundboard was being hooked up. So we play outside on a brisk Saturday afternoon freezing our asses off on "stage." We played ok, nothing a brag about however. The soundman recorded our set and put about half of it up on the internet. Terrible quality by the way. His site isn't around anymore, thus the mp3s have vanished as well. The other recording is much better. Oh, and this was our last show as a four-piece band.)

10/9/99 Stevenson High, Lincolnshire, IL
I: This World, Let's Go Crazy, Happy, Pat's Song, Desert, Quaker Talk, Purple Rain, What's Your Sign Girl?, Fruitsalad > Friend of Ed

II: I'll Make Love To You, You Really Got Me, Song For Kathy, TDA, The Pony, The Monroe Transfer
(We were the house band for some mixer I guess. This show marked the debut of "Song for Kathy," our first song people could remember! There was an obscene underwear war during the second set. I remember this show taking place right after a calculus exam at the UI, so it was good times. That exam doesn't seem long ago, but this show sure does.)

8/14/99 Par-King Skill Golf, Lincolnshire, IL
TDA, Quaker Talk, Purple Rain, This World, Happy, What's You Sign Girl?, You Really Got Me > Friend of Ed > I Feel For You, Pat's Song, Let's Go Crazy, I'll Make Love To You, Rock n' Roll Medley, Desert, Twist and Shout, The Pony, The Monroe Transfer, Old Groovy
(This has to be our worst show. Half of our power was lost during "Purple Rain," the levels were not level, and we probably played too long. This show was sort of an epiphany for us, at least for me, in that something within the band needed to be changed.)

6/16/99 VFW Hall, Arlington Heights, IL
TDA, Happy, What's Your Sign Girl?, Quaker Talk, Desert, Happy Birthday, Let's Go Crazy, Rock n' Roll Medley, The Pony, You Really Got Me > Friend of Ed, Purple Rain, Twist and Shout
(Don't remember too much of this one. Setlist is real similar to the 6/12 show.)

6/12/99 Camp Wilke, Long Grove, IL
TDA, Happy, What's Your Sign Girl?, Quaker Talk, Desert, Let's Go Crazy, You Really Got Me, Friend of Ed, Purple Rain, Twist and Shout, Rock n Roll Medley

E: The Pony, Freebird
(Alright. This was my graduation party. This was also the first recorded Nasty show. There's a crisp minidisc copy somewhere out there. We were pretty damn bad, but it's amusing. Matt's voice has changed since then. Pop-a-wheelie!)

5/29/99 Tom's Party, Deerfield, IL
Let's Go Crazy, Quaker Talk, Happy, TDA, What's Your Sign Girl?, Friend of Ed, Desert, Purple Rain, Rock n' Roll Medley, Better Man, The Pony, Twist and Shout, Freebird
(First show with Patrick. He was eaten up by the mosquitos that were attracted to the black-light right next to him. This show was the day after the battle of the bands at Stevenson, which was real interesting. No recording exists.)

5/8/99 Kayo's Party, Kildeer, IL
Let's Go Crazy, TDA, Happy, Quaker Talk, Desert, Friend of Ed, Better Man, Rock n' Roll Medley
(Historic first show. Unfortunately no recording exists. It was for a party in a nice basement with somewhere around 20-30 people present. This was before Patrick was a full-time member of the band. I thought we rocked hard. Can't remember much more than that.)
