Home Every Weekend

I come home every weekend
Leaving behind a trucker's life
To spend time with my children
And my beautiful, young wife.

My daughter's taken up violen
And my sons are in basketball
I've missed concerts and games
I've regreted missing it all.

Every night I can find myself
In a hotel room dialing a phone
I keep pictures on the dresser
And send all of my love home.

Last night my wife told me
Melissa has gotten an award
She'd been in a music contest
I could see her dreams soar.

Tonight I'm driving home again
To celebrate the twins' birthday
Their truckdriver dad's coming home
For the weekend I've come to stay.

God's blessed me with a family
Who doesn't leave me for a minute
They're with me through my travels
And there's memories I won't forget.
