Wonderful Maya Angelou
A woman with many talents, who I have admired for so long
Her gift is like magic, and all of her poetry writing is like song
She has held many noble vocations, I love to read her poetry
I would love to write like her, but don't think I could ever be.
I have not been writing poetry long, but I always write what I know.
And my favorite poet who I admire so greatly is Maya Angelou.
Her words are like perfection, and she's a great person I know
I wish someday I could meet her, her poetry seems to always glow.
She has held many wonderful vocations, and she's seen many things
She has been an actor, activist, author, poet, historian, and also sings
A young poet at heart, I suppose I have finally began writing as I relate
But I will never be as well known as Maya Angelou, she writes far too great.
She is a wonderful woman, who I have looked up to for so many years
And I feel as if I know her through her writing; she seems likes she's so near
My heart's wish is to meet her someday, I think she would be really kind
And maybe some new writing techniques she could possibly help me find.
And if I never get a chance to meet her, well I suppose that'd be okay too
But Dr. Maya Angelou, I have to say you are really good at what you do
From one writer to another, I believe we are certainally a strange breed
But there are known writers who we look up to, who know the way to succeed.
