Home Group Lingo
As we gear up for the Home
Group ministry that begins in September, I would
like to share with you some of the terminology
you will be hearing about and reading:
Home
Group: A group of 3-12 people meeting in
a home on a weekly basis. These people
are believers and non-believers, members of the
LHCC and non-members.
Home
Group Host: A person or persons that
would host weekly a home group in their
home. This position is different than the Home
Group Leader. He/She only provides a home in
which to meet.
Home
Group Leader: A married couple or
individual that is responsible to serve, lead,
and facilitate the home group
Home
Group Coach: This position is primarily
filled by the Elders. They are responsible for
the oversight of 2-3 home groups. This position
is to oversee, maintain and train leaders in the
Discipleship process. The Coach provides
pastoring to their home groups.
Community Pastor: This position is
filled by the Senior Pastor and will report
directly to the Elders. The Community Pastor is
to oversee, maintain and train leaders in the
Discipleship process within the community. The
CP will track attendance in the Home Group,
provide pastoring and strategic planning for
growth of the home group ministry.
Discipleship Process: A process that
will be used by the LHCC to grow disciples
through Home Groups. SCMD is an acronym
that communicates the process. Share—Connect—Minister—Discipleship.
