April 2002:  Effective immediately, the Illinois Department of Public Health, will not longer issue a license or upgrade to the Emergency Medical Technician
 (EMT) - Basic level.  This means that all EMT level licenses (EMT B/D, EMT-C, EMT-C/D) will all be renewed or issued as an EMT-B.  This change is due to 
all the above levels must currently take a national standard curriculum class that now includes AED use.  This will not effect what you can currently do,
which should be based off of local accepted protocols.  When the upgraded EMT-B licenses are renewed the recipient will receive an EMT-B license.

Life Flight no longer has "35v" (called "three five victor"), as that was a leased aircraft flown by Petroleum Helicopters, Inc, and staffed by St. Francis employees.  A recent investment of $5 Million was used to purchase 2 new Bell helicopters, designated Life Flight 1 and Life Flight 2.
