Illinois 121 is a southeast-northwest highway from Lincoln to Decatur to Greenup. It is very attractive, i.e. about half of the routes it intersects joins it for a while.

Intersections from southeast to northwest:

IL130 a couple blocks from US40 in Greenup

IL121 joins US45 northward

I-57

IL121 and US45 join IL16 westward for a block in Mattoon

Then the 2 routes turn north off of IL16

IL121 breaks off of US45

IL32 joins from the south at Sullivan

IL32 breaks off

IL128 at its northern end IL121 in Dalton City

US36 joins IL121 near Decatur's airport

US36 departs from IL121 as IL105 joins IL121 north from the west

IL105 leaves to the east shortly after

IL48 joins from the north

Business US51 at Decatur

IL48 leaves to go south

I-72

IL54 at Mt. Pulaski

IL10 joins IL121 northwest

Business Loop I-55 at Lincoln

IL121 ends at I-55 while it is multiplexed with IL10, which moves on to the west past I-55.

It passes through these towns: Greenup, Toledo, Mattoon, Allenville, Sullivan, Bethany, Dalton City, Mt. Zion, Decatur, Warrensburg, Latham, Mt. Pulaski, Lincoln.
