Angel From Above

Years ago I placed
my heart on a shelf
Sometimes as one does
to protect ones self

The one that I trusted
with my heart for all times
Left me bruised and broken
was I really that blind

I had been hurt
thoughts of dispare
I gave love so freely

An angel came to me
said That Wouldn't Do!
I'll take your heart with me

She wrapped it so tenderly

it would always be there

The angel came down
and said with a smile

I have had quite a while
